Speaking of blahblahblog.com (the domain name before I changed it to bigpinkcookie.com), yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of when I moved in to this site. February, 2001 was when I finally started blogging on a consistant and regular basis. Hard to believe it’s been 2 years and I am so grateful for the wonderful friends I’ve made along the way! Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for being along for the ride!

A Little Saturday Night Fun…
I was just checking my e-mail so I could print out Mike’s itinerary before we left for the airport, sending him off to London. Right as I was about to close Outlook, a new e-mail came in. “Welcome to Yahoo! GeoCities.” Huh? I didn’t sign up for GeoCities. What’s this?
Someone used blahblah at blahblahblog dot com as their e-mail address when they registered for GeoCities. Now I just got their welcome e-mail. All it would take is a second or two to get the password e-mailed to me, and I could play with them all night long. Every time they uploaded a new page, I could replace it with a different page. Oh the fun I could have! (insert Pure Evil ™ cackle here.) Ok, I won’t do it. But it could have been amusing if I did!

The Real Reasons…

My Mom e-mailed this to me, and it just amused me too much not to share. Especially since I just read on the front page of the Houston Chronicle how Bush will drag us in to war with Iraq regardless of what the U.N. thinks about it. Ugh.
In other news, when driving home last night from the H-Town blogs gathering at Brasil’s, I passed an intersection that had several flags that had been placed there with flowers and candles on the ground … and it took me a second to realize it was 6 U.S.A. flags and 1 Israel flag. It was a beautiful and simple tribute, and if it hadn’t been late and pretty dark I would have been tempted to turn around just to photograph it. Sometimes it’s the simple things…

In the Fray…
Many people were left outside last year at Fray Cafe 2 at SXSW when the venue was simply too small to hold all the people that wanted to attend. This year, they have a larger venue – but it comes with a larger price tag. If you’re interested in learning more about Fray Cafe 3 and possibly donating to the venue cost, you can do so here.
I heard nothing but great things about Fray Cafe last year, so I’m looking forward to attending it this time around. Then again – since it was too crowded last year I got to hang out with Mike (that would be Barking Moose Mike) and John Freyer, creator of All My Life for Sale. It was a wonderful evening and fascinating to hear John’s stories of how he sold everything and then travelled to visit the things he sold. And I mean everything – taco shells, half a bottle of mouthwash, his favorite bowling shirt. So it all worked out in the end!
