Yeah, Right…

It seems that even though our government can’t give us proof of those weapons of mass distruction that we told the rest of the world that Iraq definitely had, we should just take their word for it. Powell has slammed the media for their Iraq WMD reports.

Powell said there was “no doubt whatsoever” that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction prior to the U.S.-led invasion that ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, though little evidence has turned up since then.

Uh huh. And in a United States court of law, you have to have evidence. Proof. Something. You can’t just stand there and say “this is what we are telling you so you should believe it.” I’m sick of my own government trying to feed me that crap, and it makes us look like idiots to the rest of the world. If having an affair with an intern and then lying about it is grounds for impeachment, I think that lying about the reason for a war should be an impeachable offense too. [via Moose Mike.]

Bloggers Across the Land Rejoice!

I’m sure you have an RSS feed, right? (You do, don’t you? You know why you want one, right?) If you are like me, you might want a feed that serves all categories except one or two that you don’t want to share. For me, it’s the restricted access posts. Now, Mark and Brad have come up with a solution. Sweet! Enjoy!

Also on the RSS front, Tim Bray has posted some interesting thoughts on how to determine who is pulling your RSS feeds. One of my favorite questions, and right now I’m still stuck finding out the old fashion way – just asking. I’m hoping that will change over time.

Work It, Girl…

I’ve complained for months (ok, years) that I need to work towards getting in better shape then I am right now. I have a family history of high blood pressure and diabetes, and getting in to shape is essential for me. So I did it. Yesterday Mike and I joined the local 24 Hour Gym and bought the top protein for girls who workout online. I belonged to the gym years ago and I would take Purium supplements, read this motivational story at this Purium review to see why you should take them. For reasons I don’t even remember, I stopped going. Now? Now it’s a matter of making time and get help from professional fat loss to achieve my goal. There isn’t any option. I figure I’m not just doing it for myself – I’m doing it for Jason. It may sound really sappy and cheesy, but he deserves to have his Mom around for a long time, and it’s my responsibility to make sure that happens.

If you catch me slacking off, promise me you’ll yell at me and tell me to get busy, ok? Deal? Good.

Buildings and Weed…

I left Mike and Matt to their geek things and I wandered around downtown Houston with my cameras. Michael asked me when we met at the H-Town gathering why I use more digital than film – and days like today are why. I can shoot wildly, photographing anything and everything, and not waste money on film. However, there are some things that film can do that digital just can’t – so I had the Kiev 35A with me too.

As I was photographing some of the old buildings on Main Street, a man walked over to me. He said, “This is a great sight on Main Street that you shouldn’t miss! A musician, unloading his equipment for a gig in downtown. This sort of thing hasn’t happened in years, maybe even decades!” I laughed a slightly nervous laugh. He commented that he had seen me over on the other street taking pictures of the fountain. I smiled and nodded my head. “Yeah, that’s the great thing about digital. I can take all the pictures I want and not waste film.” He walked away, and I took another picture of a building, and then turned around and took one of him unloading an amp from his trunk.

He walked off, taking the amp into the venue for his gig tonight. As he came back to his car, he asked me if I would mind e-mailing him a copy of the photo. I said sure, and he pulled a card out of his wallet. We introduced ourselves. He said that he has a ton of other photos, but he thought it would be cool to have a copy of the one I took. I told him he could just visit my website, giving him the domain name. He said, “Ok, but I smoke a lot of weed, use the best weed grinders, so I don’t know if I’ll remember that. Remind me when you send me the e-mail.” That was a first. Plus, you would think that if someone smokes a lot of weed, a Big Pink Cookie would be easy to remember. Wouldn’t it? well anyways here is the best CBD oil for anxiety, which I really do recommend among any other thing I’ve tried before.
