All the News…
I can always tell when I’ve found a service that is fairly new. I try to sign up with a username of “christine,” chuckling as I think, “yeah, RIGHT. Christine is *so* not going to be available. But it’s worth a shot…”
NewsGator Online is so new, I just signed up as “christine.” That new. Want an alternative to Bloglines? Want to read all of your RSS feeds in one place, no matter where you are at? Want a nice and pretty interface for reading your feeds? Check NewsGator Online out. It rocks!
Bad Grammar and All That…
One of those tweaks that I have always wanted for my blog is a Spell Checker. I hate to make errors, but sometimes I just don’t want to take the time to go and look things up. Now there is a Spell Checker plugin for WordPress! Yeah! [via Matt]
Yesterday I went to look up a word online, only to discover that my favorite dictionary site, Merriam-Webster Online is no longer free. What?!? *sniff* How can they figure out things like the fact that blog was the most looked-up word of 2004 if the service is no longer free? I’m sad that they have changed their policy. I can understand why – who needs to go and buy a dictionary if it is all online for free? But it is still so much more convenient when it is online.
Links, Links, Links…
I guess I should formally declare today the “WordPress Plugin Day” of 2004. I’ve got a long post in the works about the whole “should I switch back to MT?” thing, but for now, I’m doing research. I’ll talk about that later once I make a final decision. I want to go through the CMS Matrix too for a comparision.
Even with all the links I’ve already posted, I still have a bunch of tabs open in my browser, so I’m just knocking them out in one post:
– Scott Reilly’s WordPress Plugins
– RSS-to-WordPress Aggregator.
– WordPress Comment Verification using blog author’s name or some other knowledge word.
– Del.icio.us Smart Tagging plugin for WordPress.
– Manji is another design option for WP.
– Alex King’s plugins include a WP Mobile Edition! I need to get this set up soon – Promo will be so happy! Also includes “Since Last Visit,” the “Style Switcher,” and more.
– Improved pluginsused Plugin.
Whew! I know there are tons more out there, and lots and lots of goodies at ScriptyGoddess. For now, these will do.
