All is Well…

Just to clear things up, the people let go yesterday were not layoffs like I went through a year ago. No other rounds coming. This was truly a time where there was so much negative energy from the people that left that they just had to go. When you have people “secretly” providing good customer service to our clients because it is the right thing to do but it goes against process, that is all wrong. I mean, the customer service is right, and that’s what we are all about. Using process as a shield is wrong. I watched “Office Space” a few weeks ago, and I laughed so hard at the whole TPS report thing and the fact that he had 10 managers – because that’s where we were headed if “they” had had their way. Today the mood is entirely different, and it is a good thing… The pipeline is full, proposals closing soon, and so forth. All is well, I am not sitting on the edge of my seat fearing a layoff. Matter of fact, far from it. I believe in us, and as we have watched our competition close shop, we continue on.

It is good to hear that are things are wel at work. Layoffs are not easy to go through. The day you can finally sit back and feel more at ease is always agood sign 🙂

No, good customer service is our mission. Three people were let go because they insisted on using process as a shield, thus not giving good customer service – which is not what the company is about. And no, you didn’t find a previous post about it because I don’t normally talk about work here – I just didn’t want it to sound like we were in trouble as a company, going through rounds of layoffs – not the case at all. Just getting rid of the rotten apples. To say they were “laid off” isn’t even accurate – they were fired. And the job is a better place for it.
