I am a child of the ’80s and have done all of those really ’80s things, but I have never seen Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Can you believe it? It came out in 1982, so I was still in 7th or 8th grade. But even in all the years on video, all the years I have had movie channels on cable – I have never seen it. Pretty strange that I missed that somehow. Well, I have seen all of the John Hughes films about 1000 times each and have most of the lines to “Sixteen Candles”, “Breakfast Club” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” memorized to this day. The Donger need food!

I’ve never seen Fast Times either. Come to think of it, I’ve not seen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off either. Wonder how?
There is actually an E! True Hollywood story coming up on Fast Times. I LOVED that movie!!! Sean Pean is so classic 🙂
It was on E! last night, that’s what brought it up – when my Tivo decided to change the channel to 44 instead of 445 to get ready for Sex in the City. It was a pretty interesting documentary on how they made the movie! I guess I’ll have to rent it sometime…
Come to think of it neither have I. Wonder what I’ve missed, can’t even recall what the premise of the movie was.
Robyn has never seen it either. We too can quote every 80s movie there is…
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was a great 80’s movie, but one of my favorites was Better off Dead with John Cusak. My favorite part in that movie is when he jumps off the bridge and lands in a garbage truck. He passes by some workers and they say “It’s a damn shame when white folk throwin’ away a perfectly good white boy like that.” lol
I missed this one too… but I’m the same way about Sixteen candles, the Breakfast Club, and Ferris… Don’t forget Pretty in Pink and I’d put Parenthood in that category too 🙂 Oh and Patrick Dempsey’s Can’t Buy me Love and Loverboy.
So there ya go, I went off on a tangent remembering these movies :giggle:
Oh good gawd! I remember that movie [Better of Dead] just not the title. Thanks Mike.
Now I have to go and find a copy so I can see it again 🙂
“oh sexy GIIIRRRRRLLLLfreind….” heh I loved that movie, even tho i despise molly ringwald. i can’t believe you’ve NEVER seen Fast Times… that movie is just so classic! rrrowwr Phoebe Cates! Better Off Dead is one of those movies that doesn’t quite get the acclaim that it should…
I saw it for the first time in 2001! It was funny, but not a cult classic to me… and I am a child of the ’80s, too.
I can’t believe you haven’t seen this movie! Check out this link…
