What are you doing for the 4th of July? Me? I’m going to Boston to see Jennifer! Whee! Sam and Rachel too, of course! Tuesday night, I’m Boston bound. So much to do! So little time! We’re working on coordinating getting together with Susannah and Erika and it might just have to turn in to a Boston Blogger party! (I owe Jess and Brian e-mails about this still!)
Speaking of e-mails, I’m having a hard time using the laptop this weekend. I turn it on, and about 5-10 minutes after it powers up the monitor goes dim, 1/3 of it almost dark gray. Oh, wonderful. Just what I need this week. It has happened once before, but I just thought it had overheated. That was back in May. Since yesterday, it’s happened every time I turn it on. Grumble, grumble…
Ok, positive thoughts. Back to Boston. If you were going to Boston, what are some of the “must see” things that you would just have to visit? If you were my tour guide, where would you take me? Suggestions, feedback, all are welcome!

That wouldn’t be your “wonderful” Dell, now would it? ;-p
I am way jealous — you guys are gonna have a blast!
wooo! boston rocks! 8] have a great time!
There is just so much to do here, I don’t know where to begin!
If you like art, the Museum of Fine Arts is a must-see. Mike and I are members, and go there often.
If you like baseball, you must worship at the altar of Fenway Park…the Red Sox are in town all week, but I’m not sure if they are sold out or not. Mike & I have tickets for July 7’s game vs. the Tiggers!
Fanueil Hall is nice, but it will be mobbed with tourists this week.
I love boats. If you do, too, you might want to try a Boston Harbor Cruise.
Some recommended restaurants: Legal Sea Food, Boston Beer Works (mobbed before and after Red Sox games, however), Cambridge Brewing Company (where I used to work, and also where I met Mike), and just about ANYPLACE in the North End (the Italian section of town…not to be missed if you love Italian food!).
Taking a stroll along the Charles River, on the Cambridge side near MIT, is nice…but once again, it’ll be mobbed for the 4th, as it’s across the river from the Boston Pops show at the Hatch Shell.
And finally, you can meet me! 😉
Have a great trip!
Hey, it’s not MY Dell – it belongs to the boss. And I love it, love it, love it still… and yet it’s being bad and I’m going to cry. It’s probably still under warranty though – we’re going to check the paperwork tomorrow.
Boston Pops on the Esplanade, July 4th. World’s biggest block party. Be there!
About the Dell, a friend of mine had a similar problem that was caused by me accidentally pushing one of the dials on the side. I thought I had broken the computer and all I did was turn down the brightness – though if it’s starting out bright and then getting dark, it’s probably something different. Bleh, I’m no good with laptop troubleshooting 🙂
Oh – it starts out bright and normal and then *suddenly* goes dim on 1/3 of the monitor. A techno friend was here today and he said it looks like the monitor is going out. Since he looked at it, it’s behaved like normal. I have my fingers crossed.
Hrm, well, I’m sure it’ll work out in the end 🙂 Have a *great* trip to Boston!!
