Macro Vote…

Wheeee! My Beach Sandals entry took 3rd place in the End of Summer category at Rannie’s 100k photo contest!

Voting is now open for the Macro category (and I think the Movement category will be up later today), and there are some *amazing* submissions in the Macros. I wish I had a camera that could take macro photos like Ciscley’s pine cone mountain, and the wasp photograph is breathtaking too. Ciscley’s is the one that had that *gasp* effect on me though, and I vote with my heart on these things. Don’t take my word for it though – go vote!

I loved that sandal photo. It was my vote too. Though you lost to an amazingly well conceived image. In fact I’m voting for Then You Discover’s macro photo because it really challenged what I thought a macro should be.

Rannie told me last night that my photos had improved *soo* much since the 50K contest. I’m still blushing. 🙂 I hope participating in these contests does that again – for mine and your work. Especially once the Big Blogger game is over and we can concentrate on the remaining categories.

And OH! I have to find this link for making a macro lense like I did out of a child’s plastic magnifier. You’ll love it! *goes off to hunt*

Hehe, congrats on taking third place for those sandals 😉 I definitely wish my camera could do portrait macros better – but anything closer than what I took is just horribly out of focus.

Cis: I’d be interested in that link, too 😉 Might be a nice workaround til I can save up some money for a much better digicam 🙂
