So, have you seen the Gold Box Offers over at Amazon? Yesterday was the first time I saw my Gold Box, and the offers weren’t too bad. Things I would actually consider buying. Today? This time the Gold Box wasn’t quite so good to me. They offered me (a single female) the chance to buy a Men’s Norelco razor. Why? I have no need for a men’s razor. Nothing on my wishlist would even make you think that I need one of those. Oh well, at least they offered me Kate & Leopold, although I passed it up too. Along with the $112 wine bottle opener – for $112, that thing better be doing a lot more then just opening my bottle of wine!

Sometimes I think the Gold Box actually generates the exact opposite of what you normally buy from Amazon or what’s in your wish list. I’ve gotten lots of kitchen and gardening accessories and once a beard trimmer. Some of them would have been a lot more tempting if I had any money right now … but it seems to me like I *always* have a Gold Box when I go to Amazon. I can only open it once a day, but it’s there all the time.
Well if it’s tall, dark and looks like Vin Diesel, I wouldn’t mind paying $112 dollars for that wine opener.
Yesterday I was offered an 8 pack of AA batteries I can buy cheaper at the store…the only good thing offered was Black Hawk Down, which I’d just rented…I don’t think they honestly pay attention to previous purchases or wish lists…
I thought it looked like a cool idea … I guess I am a sucker for this kind of thing. But my gold box items have also been completely random and bizarre. The last one I recall was a birdhouse for about $80.00. My god … who would pay $80.00 for a birdhouse? Not me, anyway. 🙂
