The Memories…

Last night I watched the closing ceremonies, and throughout they played clips of the memorable moments in Athens. I have a confession … it made me teary-eyed. Yep, there is no point in denying it – I’m a big-time Olympic sap.

I feel better for confessing it.

I can’t watch the Olympics anymore. I get too worked up when the Americans compete. I still remember 1980, the Miracle on Ice. And yes, I’m man enough to admit that I even cried at the end of the movie Miracle.

I got to you from Emily at I Don’t Think, from your comment on her latest. What, do you guys all have mutually supportive blogs or something? Are you friends in the real world, and in the blogosphere? How does that work? How can you really write anything? I had a blog, then it died, and it was for the best. People I really knew read it, so I was limited. Don’t you feel the same?

Hmmm… I’ve been writing on my blog for over 3 years, and while it has changed in that time period, it hasn’t really died. Then again, I write for me more than anything else.

I also cried at the end of Miracle.

And yes, Emily & I know each other in real life, although we met close to a year ago because of our blogs and an H-Town Happy Hour event that she attended.
