Record Breaking HEAT…

We had a record breaking high of 86 today in Galveston, breaking a record set in 1927. That was cooler than it was in Houston though – where it was 89 degrees with humidity making it feel like 95 degrees.

95 degrees. On October 27th.

Hello, Mother Nature? Cut the crap. We deserve some cool weather. Soon. Please? Any time now would be good.

Go SOX!!!

From ESPN: “Can 86 years of hardship really end like this? Can the Red Sox sweep aside the ghosts in dominating fashion? Derek Lowe has thrown seven shutout innings in Game 4, as the Red Sox lead St. Louis 3-0 (ESPN Radio Live) in the eighth.”

I’m hoping! GO SOX!!! GO SOX!!! GO SOX!!!

UPDATE: Holy cow … we have a SWEEP!!! THEY WON!!! Go Sox! I’m so excited that they won that I had tears in my eyes! Christine, Jenn, Sam, Su, Erika, Jen, Shelly, BlogDaddy, IB … and everyone I’m forgetting right now (sorry, I know that list should be much longer) … I’ve been thinking of all of you! I’ve been cheering for the Sox! And I’m so glad they won! GO BOSTON!!!

My favorite sign in the stands? “86 years … SWEPT AWAY.” Awesome.

The Blog Age…

My 15 minutes of fame is kicked off with me all but tackling Matt in the Houston Press article regarding The Blog Age. I don’t think I charged him. However, he did set up my site, and I had been trying to get ahold of him to fix something that was broken and only he knew how to fix. You know, just for the record.

Also, my wedding is mentioned, but there is no mention of Mike. Oops! So if you’re here from the article – Mike has a blog too, and it is at CoffeeCorner.org. Matter of fact, he organized the H-Tow Blog coffee hour that we first met in person at. And yes, there really were big pink cookies at our wedding instead of a groom’s cake (page 5 of the online article, near the end). Plus coffee. In the corner.

Matt left Houston yesterday, and there will be a hole in our blogging community from his departure. I know he will be missed. We will see him during the holidays though, and I’m sure he will make it down to Texas other times too. *sigh*

It’s an interesting article. I’ll be picking up a hard copy of the paper tomorrow. Let me know if you want a copy too!

My Blog Hates Me…

Here I was, sniffling and whimpering about no comments. (I know, it shouldn’t be important – but it is.) Turns out that WP has decided to moderate all of my comments, not just the ones that need to be moderated. I’m looking things over to see what could be wrong, and I e-mailed the expert for suggestions.

Now I’ll stop whining about comments. I guess my blog was just trying to prove a point, huh? Yeah, I don’t need comments to live. I shouldn’t have been so blah about that earlier. Sorry about that.

Just a Touch Neurotic…

Quirky? Yeah, that’s me. Very quirky. Or neurotic, depending on how you want to look at it. It is all about perspective, right?

I went to fill my car up with gas today, and I was faced with one of my quirks. I can’t stop pumping at an odd dollar amount. I can only stop at a whole dollar amount, or a quarter amount … so $23.00, $23.25 and $23.50 are ok. $23.12 is simply not acceptable.

I’m not the only one that does this, am I?
