Love is in the Air!

Ahhhhhh… what a great day Saturday was!

Kenny & Elaine celebrated their wedding anniversary. They are such a wonderful couple – it’s a honor to know them and I know they will have many happy years ahead.

Boy & Girl got engaged! Whooo hooo!!! Such exciting news! Their love for one another just shines. It is nice to be around.

But the big event of the day (for 2004)? Emily & KW got married in Las Vegas! I declared myself their honorary bridesmaid (she declared herself my honorary bridesmaid), coordinated her hen night, went and had a pedicure with Emily last week, and had lunch with both of them on Thursday – and that was it. No truly ugly bridesmaid dress, or tons of expenses. How great is that? Seriously though, I was a glad to be a part of their big day, even in a small way.

Ahhhh… so many wonderful futures ahead for all of them. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it!

New Photos!

I was going to start posting new photos yesterday in Pixelog, but first I had to start editing photos again! So today marks the first day of new photos at Pixelog – and I plan on continuing daily from here on out!

*Tap, Tap, Tap…*

I’m beginning to think either my site isn’t pinging or my comments are broken. I noticed earlier that my timestamps are off, maybe that is the problem? Is this thing on? Hello? Hello?

Go Astros!

I didn’t watch the Astros’ game earlier because I am one of those “I jinx the team” people – if I watch the game, they are sure to lose. I couldn’t handle that responsibility, considering this is the first time in many years that the Astros have gone this far post season. I was stunned when I pulled up the game stats and learned that we allowed the Cardinals *one* hit tonight. One hit. Granted, we only got 3 hits, but we won. 3-0. I’m stunned.

Go Astros! I’ll still be stunned if you make it to the World Series, because you know how Houston teams are. But I really hope you prove me wrong.

I Think I Have Recovered…

The past few days have zoomed by so fast, but I enjoyed them so much. Some time ago (as when KW & Emily first started making wedding plans in August), she called me – at 8am Vegas time – to ask me if I would “host” her bachelorette party for her. That may sound like an odd request, but they are running off to get married alone, and she didn’t want it announce until closer to the date. She also didn’t want the traditional bachelorette party. I mean really, do you find hot, sweaty, slimy, stinky men at the male strip club attractive? No. And renting the limo and getting the bride so trashed she is puking for the rest of the night isn’t always so fun either.

Instead, Emily wanted everyone to come to her house, bring their tiaras and housepants, and we would play games, drink, and have silly girlie fun. A slumber party to send her off right, in the comfort of her own home. With (almost) everyone spending the night, they could drink without having to worry about driving home drunk. How fabulous is that?

So I spent a lot of time planning cheesy games that I later vetoed because I knew Emily didn’t want to play them, and one of them I was afraid would actually cause someone to blind her or something just as dangerous. I spent time grocery shopping for goodies and getting fun trinkets from Cindies (dicky sippers and sassy nametags, and her own personal blow up Willy that just wouldn’t get hard – er, firm.) I was even commended at the grocery store for us being such good responsible girls and partying at home instead of out on the town.

A fabulous time was had by all, and we were able to send Emily off in style. We drank, we ate, there was was way too much food, fantastic lemon drops, blow pops, hugs and kisses, margarita jigglers, a fun round of Scene-it, where DTC and I rocked so much we should have won but didn’t (we knew all the answers but the ones that mattered most!), gifts for the bride & groom, people playing pool, darts, and just having fun. Eventually we all crashed on her many couches and slept, and when we woke up KW made us omelets. Mmmm…

Afterwards, Emily, KW & I went to see “Wimbledon” – which I thought was very cute and fun. Plus it was unique in many ways – even if it was your typical chick flick. I liked it. You should go see it.

I finished off the day taking care of Mike, who is still sick (he was home from work on Thursday & Friday) and watching the first episodes of CSI on DVD courtesy of Netflixs. Down time to recover from the rush, and now I need to get ready for the upcoming Stampin’ Up party next Saturday. I still have cards to design! Eep!
