Informal Wedding Survey…

Our wedding is next week, May 29th at 4:30 in the afternoon. Originally, we had planned on leaving the reception at 9:30 and the reception would end at 10:00. Then we realized that we have a lot of family coming in from out of town, so we considered extending the wedding to 11:00, and we would leave at 10:30. However… we also have a lot of friends from here in Houston, and Galveston is about an hour to an hour and a half drive home for them. Asking them to stay until 10:30 might be a bit late. Or would it?

That’s where you come in. If you were going to a 4:30 wedding and the bride & groom didn’t leave the reception until 10:30 and you still had to drive an hour and a half home, would that be too late? (Those of you attending the wedding are definitely free to chime in!) I just want to make sure we have people there for the bubble-filled departure! (I love bubbles!)

Moving Closer…

Today, I have a 1:30 appointment at the passport office. Tomorrow, 10:00 with the wedding photographer, followed by picking up the unity candle from the Candle Lady. (We went to visit the Cake Lady last week and settled on the White Almond wedding cake, as originally planned. Go with the instinct.) Working out plans for a bridal luncheon next Friday. Have a ton of little details to get through in the next few days.

It’s almost here. I need a break. I feel scattered. I’m pulling it together today though. I will say that the honeymoon is looking better and better every day! I can’t wait! Have passport, will travel!

And We’re Off!

We *finally* made a decision last week about the Honeymoon! Yes! The wedding is May 29th, and we finally decided where to go!

We decided to go to both London and Paris!

We have selected The Cranley – A Charming Private Town House Hotel in South Kensington, London for our London stay, but we still need to find a hotel for Paris. Any suggestions? I want something nice and cozy, with a room that has character. No hotel rooms that look like the Radisson down the street.

Now we need your suggestions on where to go and what to see! Have you been to either London or Paris? Is there something we should be sure to see while we are there, that we just can’t pass up? Have travel stories? Travel dreams? Share them here!

Hair, Hair, Hair!

I have a trial run tonight for possible hair options for the wedding. I need a way to show the stylist some of the photos of hairstyles I like, so I figured I would post them here. Feel free to check them out and give feedback if you want!

I Will Be So Beautiful!

The hair & make-up lady that cancelled on me on Sunday called me last night and left such a sweet message it almost had me in tears. She explained further why she felt that she had to cancel, and then went on to say that she has found an artist to assist her with the wedding – Mariel Short of Image, Style and Beauty. Mariel is normally a makeup artist for film and has done work on stars such as Goldie Hawn and Richard Gere. (How cool is that?!?) She asked for the opportunity to do the wedding, doing my hair trial for free even. So we have the trial booked for tomorrow night, and we will go from there!

I have a good feeling about this now – better than before (and obviously better than on Sunday!) and it is so cool that Mariel will be assisting. I kept telling Shanna that everything happens for a reason – and as she said today, if things had not happened as they did, she wouldn’t be brining Mariel in – someone that is renowned like phoenix skin and makeup schools one of the best makeup artists in the city!

(I did notice that creepy guy that lost on the last round of the Bachelorette is in her portfolio. *shiver* He truly bugs me. But we won’t focus on him. We’ll just pretend he’s not there.)

I’m giddy again! My bridezilla moment has passed!
