Just to Make You Jealous…

I would like to point out to those of you living in the really freakin’ cold states up north that I have not turned on my heat yet this winter. Not once. Not at all.

Originally, I didn’t turn it on because the weather was bouncing from cold to hot – so once I would have heated my apartment, I then would have had to cool it back down. Then we had a stretch of cold days in the 40s, but my apartment stayed in the 60s – so I just put on a sweatshirt and socks. Now I’m holding out for the sake of lower light bills and keeping my allergies from going crazy. Something about turning on the heat ends up making me hellaciously sick. I figure that I’ve made it this long and been relatively healthy this winter (aside from tonsillitus; my allergies have been mild this year) so what is the point in messing up a good thing?

This post will come back to bite me in the ass in August when it is 100 degrees outside and there is no shade and we’re running the AC to cool a whole house. Oh well, for now I’m happy and comfy in my little apartment, and I’m still not turning on the heat.

No, I’m Not Okay…

I own two copies of Gross Pointe Blank, however I had never watched the movie before last night at Emily’s house. She took me in so I wouldn’t be sitting at home being pouty about the whole job thing, and the movie was a perfect fit. I even got a new line out of it!

“Are you okay?”
“No, I’m not okay. I’m hurt, I’m pissed, and I gotta find a new job.”

That about sums things up. I go between a-ok happy and gleeful to mad and pouting. So for now, I’m just sticking with that line.

I Still Love You…

If you’re one of the many, many people that asked for access on my restricted access posts, I am not ignoring you. I have a ton of e-mails to go through, and I am getting through them as fast as I can. You’ll get a note back when it’s set up, or an e-mail back asking for more details on who you are so I can grant access. For now, I have an interview at 10:00 am 11:00 am (she just called to move it) to finish getting ready for!

Things You Can Do While Unemployed…

Do you realize how wonderful it is to be able to take a shower at 10:00 am and then wrap up in a warm towel, fresh from the dryer? Damn, that is a nice feeling.

I’ve called the temp agencies already and have an appointment set up for tomorrow with one close to home. Meanwhile, I’m plotting all the things I want to do in the next few days:

– Tons of updates to Blogomania
– Finally getting a chance to sit and write about all the things I haven’t had time to write about in the past few months.
– Setting up a wedding website with details, photos, etc.
– Registering for wedding gifts.
– Packing – if the last of the house negotiations go through, we have a closing date set for March 15th.

And the one I’m really looking forward to:
– Setting everything up for my “naughty bits” soap company, which will specialize in great things like “Itty Bitty Teenie Weenie Penii Soaps” and the “Tiny Tim Penis Soaps” and other goodies, perfect for things like bachelorette parties and gag gifts! (Anyone interested in sculpting them out of Fimo clay for me so I can make soap molds?)

Matter of fact, I will soon be doing a study of responses to company name suggestions – if you are interested in giving feedback, let me know!

Ahhhh, the joys of being unemployed…

South Beach Body For Life?

I went to Wal-Mart last night to look for the Body for Life journal that they used to carry (they don’t any more), and ended up walking out with the South Beach Diet book. Reading through it at the store, I was interested in his studies on the diet and blood sugar issues – I’ve been noticing for the past several months that if I don’t eat protein several times a day that I seem to have a lot of the symptoms of low blood sugar. I have to finish reading the book, but I think that I may actually merge the two plans. The diet for SB isn’t that different then the BFL diet – with the exception of the two week no carbs thing. I like the workouts that BFL promotes (you can even do them at home!). I think that going with the South Beach eating plan and the BFL exercise plan will help get me to where I want to be, I am very excited about this, after the program i am thinking on taking indoor spinning coach classes to become a trainer, so excited. 12 weeks. I can do 12 weeks, right? It’s just 84 days. That’s not that long at all. Those who need expert guidance on how to achieve their body goals may consult a weight loss doctor.

I was also looking at the Dr. Phil Ultimate Weight Loss plan book. I haven’t heard as much about it, where I’ve been flooded with SBD positive reviews over the past few months. Now I just need to spend some more time researching – and making up a grocery list so I can stock up on what I need! The fastest way to fail is to not have the right food available!
