With the start of the war against Iraq, I have so much that I want to say, but it all keeps coming out in jumbled thoughts. Maybe if I make a list:
:: I support our troops. They and their families left behind are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sad to see us at war.
:: They sounded surprised on the news tonight when they got word that we lost a Marine helicoptor. This is a WAR. That is what happens. It annoys me that they acted like it wouldn’t. I hate seeing lives lost like this.
:: In the past, when we wanted to liberate a country and take a leader out, we just went in and did it. In, out, done and over. Why on earth did we give Saddam all these warnings if that is what we really want to do? Why the final 48 hour warning? Why not just do it? I know why we did it, but it still annoys me. If we “end” this war without taking Saddam out of power, that will annoy me even more.
:: When in Texas, don’t say anything negative about Bush. In these parts, he could be sleeping with Monica Lewinski and people would still defend him much more than he deserves. Just a bit overly zealous.
:: Solonor said it best the other day when he this. I think I agreed with every single point. “We are attacking a country, ignoring the will of the people, in order to get rid of a dictator that ignores the will of his people.”
:: Anything that Solonor didn’t cover, George hit pretty well in his latest post. I’m annoyed that we have been Species-Jacked.
:: Robyn posted the perfect quote. “To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” – President Theodore Roosevelt. Standing up and questioning government is the very foundation of our country. Pay attention. It’s your job as a citizen.
:: My throat hurts. It’s adding to my somewhat grumpy mood. My glands hurt on the side of my neck. And I don’t have insurance until April 1.
:: I loved Houston today. It was absolutely gorgeous outside and the temperature was perfect. We might be lucky and have a few more weeks of this perfect weather before the heat settles in. I won’t like Houston then.
:: Work is going really well. I enjoy digging deeper in to the cases – and I received unexpected praise today, which is always a nice thing.
:: I’ve lost 9.2 pounds so far with more to go – I’m giving up weight for Lent. I owe it to Weight Watchers and journaling what I eat.
:: Thank you to the many people that have upgraded their RSS feeds this week. It makes my life sooooo much easier to read through Newzcrawler.
:: I’m considering watching HGTV and TechTV non-stop for the next few weeks. Network television will drive me mad. How many times can they say the same thing over and over?
There you have it – all of my random rambling thoughts…
