Hard At Work…

I know, I know… where are all of the posts from Christine? Well, you see, playing in those blog games makes you tired and weak. And it really hits you the next day. But even bigger than that – I started to work on a project before the game began, and then that took up enough time that the project got set aside.

But that won’t be the case for much longer. Ooooh, no. Kristine and I have been hard at work, and big things are coming soon. VERY soon. I’ll keep you posted!

All Bubbly…

Whenever I start to dig through all of the supplies over at Bramble Berry for soapmaking – looking for goodies for Sudsalicious (ugh, pop-ups! I must get that site out of the claws of Network Solutions so I can move it!) – I start considering eBay auctions. There are seasonal soap items, or things I would only make once, that I don’t want to add to the Sudsalicious site. I want to just auction them off – but when I look at the auctions out there already they aren’t doing well.

On the other hand, when it comes to candles – I know that Liz must be doing well with her Bay Candles on eBay – I have a ton of them! And she runs things a lot like I want to – I make them when I can, and when I want to. With a full time job I simply can’t meet the demands of having a ton of orders waiting for me sometimes.

So this is today’s consumer survey: if you were buying handmade soaps would you be more likely to buy them from a site or from eBay? Would you consider buying them off of eBay? What would influence your decision?

Just Two Weeks…

Not only is today Friday the 13th – it’s also the 2 week marker for my birthday countdown! Just 2 weeks until I’m 33. Wow. I can’t believe it. Well, considering the wonderful people that are already 33, I think it’s a great group to join!

Speaking of upcoming events, I keep seeing commercials for Dr. Phil’s new show. One of the lines in the commercial is, “Why is this woman crying?” Hello? Have you ever watched Dr. Phil? He makes everyone cry! It just cracks me up every time.

Anger and Fear…

Mike talked today about his reactions after the events of 9/11 and how the main emotion he felt was anger. It got me thinking…

I probably would have felt anger like he did – but I’m a former (ex) Army wife. Retaliation to me means sending off my cousin and ex-husband to war. I was terrified that that would happen, and heartbroken when it did.

The “War on Terrorism” brought back very real, hard to deal with memories for me – I got married in 1990, a week before Iraq invaded Kuwait and my (now ex) husband was put on alert. He was not deployed until later in the war for “Operation Provide Comfort”, but it put a strain on our marriage that was never repaired. He also did 3 tours in Bosnia. War is real to me. Seeing the wives sending the husbands off broke my heart.

Remember when the helicopter was shot down earlier this year and American soldiers were killed? My cousin was there, and his best friend died. So, as much as I hate the terrorist for what they did on 9/11, I also hate that innocent soldiers have their lives put on the line daily now as a result.

Shouldn’t I be Sleepy?

I was wide awake until 5:30am last night, and got a phone call that woke me up at 7:15am and got up to get ready for work at 8:00am. (I went back to sleep for the 45 minutes inbetween.) I should be tired right now – and I’m not. What’s up with that? I’ve been wide awake all day, and I’ve only had one Coke. Caffeine is playing no roll here.

Maybe it’s stress? The final round of nominations for Big Blogger were today. Ken & Benjy have been nominated, and now one of them will be voted off. I haven’t decided who I would vote for if I could – but when I do I’ll let you know. This means I made it to the final 4. The next round, the public gets to decide who goes up for nomination and the vote. After that, we’ll be down to 3 and the public will pick the winner. I’ll keep you posted, but for the moment I am in the clear!

Edited: I’ll let you decide who to vote for, but here’s my take on it. Ken is a strong player. Stronger then Benjy is, in my opinion. Ken is going to be a much bigger threat for me in the long run. Soooo… well, like I said, I’ll let you decide.
