Ever Had One of Those Days?

Ever had one of those days? I mean, one of those really, really bad days? Mine started off with the alarm clock breaking. Kymberlie called and woke me up when I wasn’t at the office. Greeeeeat. Still needed to take a shower, get ready for work, that whole routine. I tested out my alarm clock – instead of the alarm, it let out a quick, quiet “eep!” and that was it. No snooze, nothing else. No wonder I slept through it. Then it was off to work, hit the ground running, get a ton of things done. There were some various things going on at work that had both of us a bit stressed out. At 2:30 we realized we had to leave the office and go get something to eat, even though neither one of us was very hungry. On the way, Kymberlie asked, “Can this day get ANY worse???” I immediately thought of Todd and Robyn (and Todd’s accident) and said emphatically, “YES, yes it can. We could get in an accident this afternoon.” But we didn’t – thank goodness! The rest of the afternoon didn’t get much better, but towards the end of the day we were finally able to laugh about some of it.

When I got home tonight I got a call from Hilary. It was WONDERFUL to get to talk to her! Hopefully we will be getting together this weekend – probably tomorrow (well, later today!) and I’m *really* excited about that! The evening got better from there. I prefer to end things on a positive note!

Just Checking In…

Since Kristine e-mailed me to check in on me, I guess I should write that I am a-ok today. I survived the migraine last night by going to sleep. Dark room, turned the air conditioning down (I must be cool, almost cold when I have a migraine), turned off the TV because I can’t have any noise, and slept on the couch. That way I make sure I stay flat on my back with the ice pack under my neck. I woke up sometime in the middle of the night and went to bed, and by the time I got up this morning I felt just fine. Not quite great, but pretty close. More Excedrin this morning and the rest of the day has been great!

Speaking of great, I got pink cookies in the mail from Donna! Yes, genuine home made pink cookies! And let me tell you … they are DELICIOUS! You can get the recipe here and make your own, because Donna’s are so good I’m not sharing!

And Then There Were Two…

Until yesterday, I had three cats. But the fact that I had three was frowned upon by the apartment complex and Bella had her own issues with sharing a litterbox with anyone else. (I gave her her own litterbox, but Murphy is a neat freak and would go in there and “clean” it, and then she wouldn’t want to use it.) So yesterday, Bella moved to her new home with Kymberlie. I’m relieved to hear that she is adjusting well, but I’m really not surprised at all. She is the Queen of Mellow Cats. Ok, really she’s a whore. She loves everyone, she knows no strangers, everyone must simply love her – she can’t imagine the world any other way. You can see photos of her in her new home at PictureFish. Oh yeah, she’s in heaven. Meanwhile, Mona is happy to be Queen of my Castle again with no other female to threaten her reign.

Pain…

This afternoon I started to get a headache, but I thought it wasn’t a big deal and would go away. No. The right side of my neck hurts (even after putting ice on it) and it hurts over my right eye. Bad. I would like to just curl up on the couch and shut out the world for the next 12 hours. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. Blech. Pain. More Excedrin. More ice. Blech.

A Rare Delight…

As I was leaving the house this morning I realized that the mat outside the front door seemed to be raised up, and stepping on it didn’t feel right. I thought to myself, “Is there something under there?” There was! There was! Michelle sent me a present off of my wishlist! “Rare Delight of You” by John Pizzarelli. It’s woooonderful! THANK YOU, Michelle!
