Sunset over Seattle…

Moon over Seattle & Mt. Rainier

Wrapping up our time in Seattle, and I’m definitely going to miss it. We were lucky last night – the mountain was out, the moon was full, and we arrived at Kerry Park overlooking the Space Needle and the skyline just in time for sunset. It was incredible!

Lots more photos to come, but I couldn’t wait to share this one!

Seattle…

I just wanted to take a moment to gush about how fabulous Seattle is, from the city to the weather to the people. I never want to leave. Mike is being asked at least once an hour by Jason or I if we can move here forever and ever.

Photos coming soon, if I can stand to be indoors long enough to get them online – it is too fabulous out there!

In other news, the Olympics begin today, and therefore I’m in the middle of casting on for my Ravelympics project, the February Lady Sweater. Wish me luck in finishing it in 17 days!

Knitting Olympics Selections!

I’m heading off to Seattle, and since I’ll be there when we cast on for the Knitting Olympics (or the Ravelympics – whatever), I have opted to select my knitting project beforehand so I can take it along with me.

And the winner is …

(Drumroll…)

The February Lady Sweater!

Knit out of Red Cascade 220, in color #9404. Stash yarn. I ended up finalizing my selection based on the stash yarn factor, along with the fact that it is a darling sweater and it should be light weight enough for the Houston fall/winter/spring.

Plus I don’t have enough yarn for Cassidy, I’ve always want to make the Twist in the same black/brown yarn that Caro used, and the Eris? Well, I don’t know … I just wasn’t feeling it today.

Never one to be happy with just one project, especially when I’m traveling (I have Gilligan’s Island Syndrome after all), I’m bringing along the gray laceweight yarn and the Hanami pattern, just in case I hate knitting the sweater and want to switch. Think of it as the alternate to the event.

I’m also taking sock knitting for the plane, and the yarn for my Lace Ribbon scarf too.

I’m sure some yarn will manage to find its way into my suitcase though. It always does…

It is a Tweet Life!

I was interviewed last week while in San Francisco for the latest article on Twitter in the Houston Chronicle; it ran in the paper edition on Sunday, August 3, 2008 in the Star section. It was pretty exciting to be featured with Houston’s Twitterati, although I’m still cracking up over the caption under my photo in online gallery!

By the way, Gene Higa took that photo of me while I was lucky enough to shoot a wedding with him in Carmel, California. He is a seriously awesome wedding photographer, and I was sooooo thrilled to get a chance to shoot with him! Thanks, Gene!
