Amazing Race 8!

Whoo hoo! The Amazing Race returns on my birthday – September 27th at 8pm! Yeah! I’m so excited – it will be interesting to see how it works out with entire families instead of just teams of two people this year!

I’m setting up the TiVo season pass right now!

So Perfectly Tiny…

After seeing the iPod Nano the other day and reading Derek’s post about it, I wondered how long it would take for there to be a “get this for free” site to sign up for one. Kymberlie told me about it last night, and I signed up today! You can sign up too and get your very own iPod Nano just for refering your friends!

I’ve read sites that claim this is a scam. No, it isn’t. It is however something that you’ll have to ask your friends to sign up for. It does work – I can show you my 60gb Photo iPod if you would like to check it out. Just remember the important rule – only one per household. They will check. And they watch IP addresses. (It isn’t good to have a family member with the same name in the same town, etc. sign up. Sometimes even if they are in a different town, they will question it.)

Come on, you know you want the iPod Nano. It’s wonderfully miniscule. So magnificently dainty… Sign up!

Click, Click, Click…

No time to type. Up to my eyeballs in dustbunnies and yarn, with only a break for margaritas.

I decided today to clear out the dining room. We’re having a birthday bash for me on September 24th, and it needed to get done. (Hey! If you’re in Houston, you’re invited! If you’re not in Houston, but you want to come, you’re invited too! E-mail me or leave a comment. I’ll hook you up. Evite to go out tomorrow.) Now there is furniture to move, which should be fun since I’m still not allowed to lift anything.

I also did a lot of knitting. I’m wrapping up the first baby blanket, I’ve finished more baby booties (no photos because they look the same as the other one), and the other day it suddenly hit me – I have to mail the Sockapaltwoza sock on September 15th! So I’ve cranked out the first sock (I’ll Kitchner the toe tonight), and I should have the second one done in plenty of time. Whew!

I did take a little break last night – our friend Mandy is in town from Seattle, and we couldn’t pass up the chance to see her. Dinner, margaritas, then two more margaritas, and then when I was a bit tipsy I called Kymberlie. She has saved the voice mail messages I left – I’m not sure just how scared I should be of that fact. Oh well, we don’t go out too often, and the margaritas were so good.

I’ve approved the pending comments that were waiting here, and I still have several e-mails to send out. If you’re waiting for a mailing address for crafted goods for Katrina survivors, I will be writing you tomorrow. Thank you for all of your support with this!

Now there is a Chemistry book calling my name…

I Want to Go Back…

I miss my old blog design. Whenever I change, I always long to go back. So don’t be too surprised if sometime this weekend you find a variant on this design here. If I am lucky, I will figure out how to keep the skins. Hopefully the BonaFideStyle women can help me if I need it. (I am sure I will need it!)

Just thought I would warn you so you won’t be too shocked when the Scooter Girl disappears, Ill just check the MyProScooter.com site to get an actual scooter that way I won’t even notice it is gone!

Fall Knitty! Fall Knitty!

While taking a bit of a study break, I spotted the e-mail. The lovely e-mail that comes to my mailbox to let me know when the new Knitty is up! Yeah! Fall Knitty! Just when our temps are finally starting to lean towards sane weather (morning of 69 – below 70! – lunch of 88 and high of 90 tomorrow! Yeah!)

I like the Samus sweater, Cinxia jacket, Josephine sweater, the Bloom shawl, the Ella, the Flora scarf, the Falling Leaves socks (maybe a use for my lovely green Koigu?), Bubby the bear (I could add him to my baby knitting for Katrina!), and Edgar the edgy scarf.

Ok, basically I like almost everything. It is the first Knitty in awhile where I can actually see myself knitting a lot of the projects. Wheee! Fall is almost here AND Knitty is full of good things!
