Going home for the holidays? Are you prepared to offer your family and friends the tech support they so desperately need? Maybe you should load up your USB drive before you visit so that you will have all the handy goodies you will need while you are there. Then you might want to read up on The Tech Support Generation so that you know you’re not alone in this new holiday ritual.

Summer Sun on a Cool Day…
Brrr! While I wasn’t looking, a cold front came through Houston. I guess that explains the 60 mph winds we had last night, huh? It was really muggy last night before the storm came through and felt like it was in the high 70s. Earlier, I opened the door and was greeted with a chilly breeze – it’s only 44 degrees out there right now!
I know anyone north of Houston that is reading this right now thinks I’m nuts. But we’ve had maybe 3 days of “fall” weather so far – it’s supposed to be back up to 73 by Friday. That makes it really fun as you try to get in the holiday spirit, you know?
As I babble about the weather, I’ve finally finished posting my photos from our trip to Galveston last summer (as in 2003) on Pixelog. I have a few Houston photos to post, and then … drumroll please … I’ll finally post photos from our visit to Boston last summer! Yeah, sometime next year I might get around to posting some of the 1200 photos I took on our honeymoon of Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower.
You think I’m kidding. I’m not. Seriously, between the two, probably 1200 photos. Somewhere in there is the perfect shot.
The Amazing Race 6 – Part 1
Yeah, I’m a week and a day late in watching The Amazing Race’s season premier. But I can’t help but wonder – what’s up with all the models on this season’s race? I mean really – are there enough of them?
And how about the mini pigtails on the one guy’s head? That’s just scary. And the body builders? Priceless.
I love that they started the race in Chicago. I haven’t been there since I was a teenager, but I still recognized a lot of things. It makes me want to visit there even more!
I’m a Product of the ’80s…
After reading Kathy’s recent post about the ’80s and ’90s, I felt the need to confess a few things:
– I still own a Hypercolor t-shirt. I haven’t worn it in at least 10 years, but it’s in the bottom of my dresser drawer. It turns from purple to this really cool shade of blue.
– I just put my biker shorts and leg warmers in the garage sale that I had last week. Yes, biker shorts and leg warmers. They have also gone unworn for years, but it was time to clear them out. (But I still can’t get rid of the Hypercolor t-shirt.)
– I actually still own a tube of color changing “mood lipstick”. You know, for when I wear the t-shirt.
– Missing from the list? Kappa tennis shoes, old-school style. The ones with the two bows that you could tie, one in the middle and one one at the top of the tongue, and you could then wear two different colors of shoe laces. They were all the rage when I moved to Houston, and I never owned a pair. Quite a bummer. Were those big everywhere?
Ah… the ’80s. Good times. Good times.
Moving on…
Now I think it’s time to turn off the PC. We have winds of something like 60 mph outside that just started up. It’s rained since Saturday, and now another front is coming through. The fun never ends around here, I tell you…
