After some prodding on my part and us thinking of the perfect domain & blog name for her, Kymberlie will soon be joining in the world of blogging at The Neurotic Fishbowl! Whoo hoo! She sent me a link yesterday for a picture that she liked, and then it all clicked. She loves fish. Then there was that comment last week that “the neurotic funhouse that is my life never ends…” And that was it. The name was obvious. She registered the domain this morning and as soon as it resolves she will have a blog! Yippee!

Uh, What Kind of Torture?
You know, it’s always wonderful to see that you are #1 in the search engines. It sort of gives you a happy glow. Unless you are #1 for the Lycos Search for “belly torture”. Yes, “belly torture”. (Be warned, some of the links there have some interesting descriptions…) Sorry, no torture here. I’m not into pain, thankyouverymuch.
Jennifer asked me if it bothered me that people find my site through some rather odd searches (I got one for short toes again yesterday). It doesn’t. I find it amusing that people search for stuff like that. I am sure if they find my site, which obviously doesn’t have what they are looking for, they just move on. Or they read it. Whatever – works for me.
Wednesday Whine…
I really have to watch this, I don’t want to end up doing one of these every day, but today’s Wednesday Whine from Obiter Dicta was too good to pass up…
I’ve Got a Secret…
I’ve got a secret… I’ve got a secret… I’m going to finally have a photolog! Jennifer made the mistake of mentioning that, as a non-working mom right now, she was feeling a bit unneeded. She missed the challenge of a project. I knew that she had helped others in the past with their photologs, and so I called on her for her programming talents and help setting it up. Then I realized two things: (1) I have NO time right now to create a design; (2) I have NO creative juices left in me after all of the proposals I have been working on. I am all about the functionality of a site lately. So when she offered her design talents – I jumped at the chance!
This morning she sent me “mock-ups” for the layout. I was looking through them … “Oh, that looks good.” “Oh, coooool…” (See, I did give her a lot of feedback on how I saw things working – probably too much! – and I could see those things taking shape, blending with her ideas – it was COOL!) Then … I opened the last mock-up. BAM! That was it. That was the one. I called Kymberlie over right away to come see them, and she agreed immediately. Her response was actually, “I want one!” With a minor font change, we had struck gold on the first shot. I am so excited it’s all I could talk about most of the day! I showed it to people here at the office – had to get other feedback on the two different font options – but for now, I am keeping it under wraps. My little secret treasure, soon to be unveiled!
So Jennifer, if you had ANY doubts about how impressed I was with the designs, put them to rest. I *LOVE* it and am so excited about putting it to good use! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Interesting Referer…
First I thought it seemed quite odd to see the International Atomic Energy Agency in my referer log file. Twice. Then I realized that my mother’s third cousin, Thomas is from Austria, and used to live in Vienna (or Wien if you actually live in Austria) and maybe it’s him? (He lives in Finland last I heard, but I don’t know who he works for now) Thomas? Is that you?
Yes, I always get curious about that sort of thing. And considering my how many relatives I have on my mother’s side of my family in Austria… well, it makes me even more curious!
