Fluffy Milk Pillows and All That…

Robyn’s birthday is coming up, and one of her wishes is for Statia to make a return trip to Florida. If you missed the fun & excitement on the webcam from Todd’s birthday party, trust me. You don’t want to miss out on this. So don’t you want to donate to the Boobies for Florida fund? You can do your part to make Robyn’s birthday special – and I hear that if Statia gets that first class ticket then we will all be in for a real treat!

If you would prefer to send your money to me, I’d be happy to join the Florida birthday bash too! Just let me know and I’ll hook you up with my PayPal information! Just kidding! Send it to Statia – she’s got entertaining things planned for us all!

Clarification…

I guess I should clarify something I didn’t bother to mention here earlier. In the beginning, Mike and I had discussion on Blogger vs non-Blogger systems. There is a whole load of personal issues that he mentioned on his own blog (relating to his job and the specific purpose of it) that factored in to the discussion. His whole point was that a technical person can use a centralized service like Blogger because it works for them. In part, that was in response to my “You’re a techno-geek! Why don’t you use something you can hack and tweak?” questioning of him. I wasn’t the first person to ask him that, so he responded to the pros & cons of both. I agreed too – Blogger serves a great purpose and there are lots of other techno-types that use it too.

So here is my long babbling post summarizing everything – and I think that we should all have a group hug at the end, don’t you?

They Say…

They claim that it will be sunny on Wednesday. If you’re the person doing the rain dance in Houston, could you please stop? I would like to see the sun in a day or two, and I would like dry weather for the Ren Fest on Saturday – although that means it will be really crowded! (The perk of going yesterday while it was raining? It was empty! I’ve never seen so few people there, and I’ve gone in bad weather before.) So I guess I should start drinking tequila and doing my anti-rain dance a la Bran tonight? [via As We See It, a newly discovered H-Town resident!]

Will It Ever End?

Hey, guess what? We’re on Day 3 of more rain – AGAIN! And there is more flooding on my side of town! Will it ever end?

On a positive note, it rained harder at home yesterday then it did up the road at the Texas Renaissance Festival, where we went to check things out and get ready for next weekend’s trip with the H-Town Bloggers. It was mainly a misting light rain the whole time we were there, but wearing a poncho I stayed dry and warm! (More on the weekend fun later tonight when I have time to sort it all out.)

On a separate note – when I went to the Houston Chronicle site, I discovered that today is the day that the 55 mph speed limit that was inflicted on us earlier this year has become history today! Within the week they will be putting the 60 and 65 mph speed limit signs back up! It’s about time, since no one has been driving the speed limit anyways!
