How to Choose a President…

If they offered Lowercase Tees in something other than toddler sizes, I would *so* buy one for Jason. Then again, probably wouldn’t be wise as a mother to send him out in public in Texas wearing one of those. But I would want to. I would really, really want to get one for him. [via Dooce]

Although an interesting thing happened last week when I was mailing off my voter registration address change. (I almost forgot, but I have since learned I could have voted in my old precinct if I signed an affidavit.) Jason is living in a household with people that are not pro-Bush, with relatives that are not pro-Bush, and yet he was surprised the other day when I said I was going to vote for Kerry. He actually gasped. When I asked him why he thought I should vote for Bush, he couldn’t give me an answer at first, and then he told me that I should vote for him because he is the current president. It was a great opening for a discussion on how you should choose what candidate you vote for and I hope to educate him more on the candidates and their campaign platforms before the election is over.

PhotoBlog Survey…

I’m working with Jenn to come up with a slight redesign of Pixelog. Poor, poor Pixelog is sadly in need of an update, but I want to migrate it to WP first.

My question is – do you like the current design, with the smaller images and the text beside the photos – with the option to click on the image and see a larger version of the photo sometimes, or do you prefer Photoblogs with larger images such as Chromasia, Ephemera or Heather Champ?

Thank you for sharing your opinions on this!

Keeping America Scared…

The other day, someone e-mailed me and said that I shouldn’t vote for Kerry just because I won’t vote for Bush. He went on to tell me that Bush deserved credit for keeping the USA safe, for keeping me safe.

I wrote back and told him I don’t agree. We have now lived under a rather constant cloud of fear since 2001. Three years. I don’t feel safe. Thanks to things like Homeland Security, I feel that we are all at risk of losing a lot of our civil liberties. I had no problems travelling overseas, but before I left, I was afraid that I would be under attack for being an American. I feel like every time we start to let our guard down, the government reminds us that we might be attacked. Terrorists. Terrorism. Global war on terror.

I’ve been thinking about it a lot for the past two days – politics, the upcoming election, all of my fears tied to it. Maybe that’s part of why I’ve been so quiet. It’s just really sad when you think about it.

I agree with TJ – the link below should be the latest Republican ad campaign. Because when you listen to them, it seems like this is all they can talk about. (You need Quicktime to watch it.)

George W. Bush – Keeping America Scared.

Grumble… Grumble…

I have freakin’ hives. Again. I itch all over, although the spots themselves are better than they were last time and I don’t have as many. Claritin has helped some, but not enough.

Last time the hives were followed by me being sick as a dog for over a week. I really, really, really hope that is not the case this time.

Grrr… freakin’ hives.
