I changed my mind. Baked potato with butter and cheese instead of a sandwich. And I dropped off some 35mm film to be developed, so hopefully there will be new photos coming soon…

I knew the fantastic commute I had yesterday was a one time thing – that’s why I had to write about it, to document that such a thing can exist. My drive today consisted of someone pulling in front of me and then slowing down, a large truck trying to pull on to a small road while the rest of us waited, construction crews stopping the car in front of me (so close!) while they used a crane to move a piece of equipment on to a semi, and another idiot cutting me off and driving 40 mph while chatting away on his cell phone. If you need to talk on a cell phone while you drive, get a headpiece thing for it – don’t hold the phone up to your head.
Oh yes, and all of this was within 3 miles of my apartment – just to set the tone for the rest of the drive.
Every once in awhile I see things that are worth noting, and I need to pass them on…
:: Courtney’s friend Joe was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. He is doing well and going through physical therapy. To help do her part, Coutney is going to participate in the Bay Area Angel Adventure for the National Brain Tumor Foundation this weekend. It’s a 5k walk to help raise funds, and Courtney’s goal is to raise $500 for the event in Joe’s name. Can you spare some change (or better yet, a few dollars?) and help her towards that goal?
:: Susan has been working hard as a Mary Kay consultant, and it’s great to see her strive to reach her goals. I’m waiting for the day she gets her red Grand Am! She sent me an e-mail earlier to let me know about the Mary Kay $10,000 sweepstakes! Whoo hoo! Really, who couldn’t use that? And all you have to do is visit her Mary Kay Personal Website and follow the “enter to win!” link. Bing, bang, boom. I’m all about the free money!

I still have a headache. I have now had a headache every day since Wednesday. Mike went out of town on Wednesday – heading to LA for his brother’s graduation from CalTech. I wonder if that is just a coincidence. Caffeine isn’t helping. Excedrin isn’t helping. My sinuses hurt. My eyes hurt. His flight lands at 5:24 pm. Hopefully his return to Houston will somehow magically make my headache go away. Otherwise, I’m starting to think I should go to the doctor tomorrow – I can’t take this any longer. Maybe it’s all the rain. Could the fact that we’re finally getting rain after months of no rain at all be affecting the barometric pressure and causing my head to hurt. I don’t know. I give up. I’m just tired of having a headache.
Doh! Could the fact that I have a headache this afternoon – again, after having headaches since Wednesday – be tied in any way to the fact that I haven’t had any Pepsi today? And I’ve been cutting back on it all week? *smacks head* No wonder the Excedrin – which has caffeine – helped! I can’t believe I didn’t figure that out earlier.
