Mission Accomplished!

Last week I decided I wanted to have reprints made of some of my favorite photographs from Europe, including the Venetian Gondolas and the one I used for the Venice Skin. I also have some of the Eiffel tower that were lost when I left the law firm. I had the envelopes that the prints were in, but years ago when I returned from Germany I packed my negatives separately so that if the pictures were lost I would still have my negatives. You can see where this is going, right? Thursday night I stayed up to 3:30am, on a mission to find the negatives. At work on Friday, I just wanted to get home to find my negatives. All weekend long I’ve been on a cleaning and reorganizing mission, which is actually a really good thing. I’m enjoying the overall clean effect – but even after going through every nook & cranny in my bedroom, I couldn’t find the negatives. 2 huge lawn-size trash bags have gone out. 2 boxes of clothes to Good Will. 4 large stacks of paper to recycle. I’m cleaning out! But no negatives.

Then it occurred to me. I have a box in the closet in Jason’s room marked “photos”. It’s a huge box and it has pictures all the way back to probably Junior High. Could I have possibly put the negatives in there? You know… some place logical? Maybe I should look?

YES!!! Sweet success at last! Now I have negatives from Rothenberg, Nurnberg, Munich, Salzberg, Venice, Rome, Cannes, Paris, and Switzerland. I’m so happy. Deliriously happy almost. And I have already started to set up a photo filing system – so after I bring them back from having the reprints done, I’ll store them in a safe place. Where I will know to find them.

Slow and Sluggish…

I couldn’t figure out why my site was slow and sluggish. Then I noticed others were having the same problem. Then Robyn reminded me – there was a warning over at Blogrolling.com that they would have their servers down – and all of my Blogwhore links were run by Blogrolling. So I pulled them from the skins for now. Hopefully that should speed things back up! Please let me know if you’re still having problems!

Gimme Back My Box!

So I head on over to Amazon.com, expecting to have a Gold Box there.

Only …

There was no Gold Box. Hello? Where did my Gold Box go? Did Amazon run out of power tools to offer me? Did they finally figure out that maybe they should be offering me kitchen tools or health & beauty stuff? That they should maybe toss in some electronics, (I mean, I did give them some good soundbar reviews recently). So they’re revamping the whole thing? What’s up? Where’s my Gold Box?

This post brought to you by Sonic and the Frito Chili Pie. Delicious. Thank you. (Thanks also to PenIs Mightier for the inspiration.)

I *heart* Friends…

Don’t you love it when you have a problem and you know that you can call on friends for help finding a solution? I’m blessed with some pretty darn good friends, and for the moment I’m especially thankful for Kristine and Jennifer for their coding talents, and Ciscley and Robyn for their input on my brainstorming. Little projects here and there, some things that may grow big over time… and I’m thankful for their help. Consider this my Participation Positive a day late…

Slaying Dragons…

It’s not often that I point out a specific post at someone else’s blog and say “go read this.” But I’m doing it today, and I’ll tell you why. Just over a year ago the Insignificant Other and I broke up. I returned from my trip to North Dakota and he just snapped – because I didn’t call him the day of my return thanks to cell phone that wasn’t working properly. Whatever. A few days ago I was going to write about it since it was the one year anniversary. Tonight I was thinking about the fact that his birthday is at the end of the month and I wanted to send him a card. No!!! So as I come back to my senses, I needed to re-read Regrets to a Dragon. I think you should too.
