Show Me the Money!

Personally, I have no problems with “monetizing” blogs. Text links, especially for legitimate sites, in exchange for money? A good thing in my book. It helps cover the costs of hosting, and the price of yarn. So I signed up last month for Text Link Ads, and I have been very happy with their service and I wanted to spread the word. They have brought in money, which covers the cost of the iRiver I bought for the podcast. Now I’m going to start saving the rest to go for new recording equipment. (That is a referral link there – if you sign up, I get money. Just thought I should disclose that.)

Sign up, get links, and get paid. It is that easy! And easy money? Never a bad thing.

Kid n Ewe & Podcasts Too…

Kid n Ewe was a blast! I think everyone had a great time and successful shopping. It was really great to see people teaching one another how to do new things – I saw people learning to spin, people learning to knit – it was just heartwarming!

I will be posting the “guest list” later today; I need to get it typed out. I was too beat yesterday after driving and getting to bed way too late Saturday night to type it up. I needed a day to recover!

I am doing an interview for the podcast today, and then it will be in to the “post production” process – so Episode 10 will be up shortly!

So Quiet…

I feel a bit sad – I felt so negligent in not getting photos up that I busted my bootie to get the shots this morning (photographing outside in my nightshirt, probably much to my neighbor’s delight!), get them edited and online so everyone could see, and it has ended up being such a quiet day around here. Yeah, I’m a dork. I know. I’m also a comment junkie. Maybe my site is freaking out for other people? It was moved from one server to another last night, so maybe that is it? Yeah, I bet that is it. Or the fact that everyone reads my blog at 7:00 am, while I am still sleeping. Ok, I’ll stop being all paranoid now.

{Speaking of quiet – the move took my e-mail down. I haven’t received any e-mail since 2:29 am today. So if you wrote me, you probably got a bounce message. If you need to reach me, I am checking my emergency backup e-mail account, bigpinkcookie over at gmail.com. (I’m sure you can figure out how to put the username and the @ symbol and the gmail.com together, right?) I almost never ever use that account though, so if you write me there in a week or two – after this is fixed – I will never see it. I’m just saying…}

UPDATE, 8:30pm: My e-mail is BACK! Wheeee! So you can resume using my regular christine here at bigpinkcookie.com e-mail address now. Sweet!

Kid n Ewe countdown … we will be on the road in 22 hours, heading for Julia’s house!

Write More…

Already three days into NaBloPoMo and I’ve missed a day. Oops! I meant to write this post yesterday, and then I just got too busy. And tired. I couldn’t sleep Wednesday night, and then I allowed myself to get sucked into the Internets. This is always bad – and you can tell when I do it because I am a comment junkie and I generally leave comments all over the place. Sort of like the Easter Bunny, there are little morsels waiting for you when you awake!

Ok, I’m not making sense. We will blame it on the Clarityne. Mike brought me back allergy medicine from London, and I swear it works better than US Claritin. He says it is the same, and I don’t believe him.

Back to the original point – the first of November kicked off NaBloPoMo month! You may have heard of NaNoWriMo, where you write a novel in a month. (Yes, crazy, right?) For those of us that don’t want to write an entire novel, there is NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month. Write on your blog. Daily. If you don’t have a blog – get one. WordPress.com, Blogspot, Vox (now open!) are all free. Write, post, share your thoughts. The collective wisdom of the Blogosphere is a beautiful thing. Share a bit and leave your mark.

WRITE!

On a different subject – if you planned to come out to Yale Street Market here in Houston tomorrow to see Elaine and me, well … we won’t be there. More on that drama later, as I have to be judicious with my words when I write that post, and I don’t think the Clarityne haze would allow me to do that right now.

Also, I am trying to resist the urge to post every single photo that I put on Flickr here on my blog too – so if you watch the thumbnails at the top, sometimes there will be different photos there. Just in case you were curious. I still have a lot more flowers to edit and post as I prepare for the December Yale Street Market.
