FreeiPods for Everyone!

I’ve already met my FreeiPod requirements, but I have some friends that haven’t. If you still haven’t signed up and you are interested, can you help them out?

Kevin’s link – freeiPods.com
Meryl’s link – freeiPods.com. On a side note, Meryl had a Cochlear Ear Implant done shortly after the birth of her last child. She is hoping to get an iPod to help her out with the implant, but since her husband has been out of work for over a year now, it’s not an expense she can afford. However, you can help her earn one by signing up.

Once they have met their requirements, I’ll replace this with other links. If you want a tip on which offer to do, go for eBay! It’s free!

Mmmm… So Fine…

Thanks to Claudia, I found the movie! I found it! It’s So Fine, from 1981. Man, I wonder if that’s out on DVD – it is a riot. Just look at those jeans! The whole “craze” starts when Ryan O’Neal somehow rips one of the pockets off of his jeans and his butt is showing. Everyone comments on what a great look it is, so they market jeans with a see-thru butt. Sort of drives home the point that sometimes in the name of fashion, we will go for the stupidest things.
I have also dreamed of nice fur coat for a long time now and finally I decided to buy one from FurCoats.com, I love it!

Testing …

Another fabulous feature of WordPress is that I should be able to write posts that appear in the future. If it works like I thin kit should, then this post should appear at 11:07, all on it’s own. I’m writing it at 10:54. Now I just have to wait and see…

By the way, the reason for this test? Tomorrow, this site will participate in the Virtual Book Tour, featuring an interview with the author M.J. Rose about her new book, The Halo Effect. You can also read the first chapter of the book online. It is truly one of those books that once you start it, you can not put it down.

I’m Easily Amused…

While spellchecking an e-mail that I was sending through Thunderbird, it told me that “Firefox” was a misspelled word. Now really, if you were designing a software package, wouldn’t you make sure that the name of your other software package wasn’t considered a misspelled word? Come on guys … Firefox should be in the Thunderbird dictionary!

Just Another Monday…

It’s funny – since I have not been working, I don’t normally have issues with Monday. It’s just another day of the week for me. But not today. Today has been a Monday.

I went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription. No big deal, walk in the store, pick up the milk I need to buy, go to the counter to get the medicine, I’ll be in and out in a flash. Ha! Yeah, good one.

I give the clerk my name, and he tells me the cost. I was a little surprised by the fact that it was $7 more than it normally is, and it wasn’t a cute even amount like the normal insurance co-pay. You know, it’s normally $20, $30, $35, whatever. Mine? $36.99. Odd.

Then he tells me that the insurance ID number isn’t valid.

Mike works for a big oil company, so we added me to his insurance as a “Domestic Partner” back in April. It saved us about $500 a month over what I was paying for my tiny law firm insurance. Standing in the middle of Walgreens today, all I could imagine was how he notified them in June that we got married and they kicked off the 30 day enrollment option – and since we thought I was already on the insurance and didn’t do anything to make a change, they kicked me off. You know how insurance companies are, right?

The tech called in to United to verify my coverage. Maybe something was just wrong with the computer system? No. Then he asks to verify Mike’s coverage.

Guess what? Mike’s not in the system either.

We have no insurance. Holy fucking craptastic, we have no insurance.

Big Oil Company is divided in to divisions. (Kymberlie, that one was just for you.) Mike used to work for one division, but that division is going away. Mike moved to a new division at the beginning of July. After I called him freaking out about the lack of insurance, he called the benefit coordinator. Turns out that in the process of transferring him from one division to another, they dropped his insurance. Now they have to open an investigation in to it, and who knows how long it will take to fix it. Never mind the fact that I need to go in for my usual allergy shot later this week. *sigh* Yeah, it’s a Monday…
