I am clearing off the Tivo (except for Naomi’s Northern Exposure episodes) and I just have to say that Leap Years on Showtime is GREAT. I really enjoy it. It’s cool how it jumps from 1993 to 2001 to 2008 and around. Watching the relationship dynamics over time – it takes some very creative writing. Check it out. I am also enjoying watching the first episodes of Queer as Folk which I missed before. I started watching the show mid-season originally.

Whew! What a busy day it has been. I got up super early and did a bunch of work from home. Then on my way to the office I decided to stop & get gas and a “quick” car wash. Ugh. The first 2 times through the car wash wouldn’t run! I kept having to go in and get a new number. Finally the third time it worked. Then I got to the office, only to get a call from John Solanto saying that our meeting spot was being moved. He thought I would need extra time to get there, but since I took Beltway 8 it was actually really fast – got there in 30 minutes. (In Houston, that’s a short drive.) I did leave early just in case I couldn’t find the Olive Garden on 59 at Bissonet (I did have to hunt for it since coming North from the Beltway it’s at the Beechnut/Gessner exit) Had a nice lunch with John and another person in the industry that he knows. Hopefully it will bring all of us more business. I love networking! Then it was back to the office, but not without stopping first at the EZ-Tag story. I have needed one for ages, and I couldn’t put it off any longer. No more quarters for me on the toll road! I can just whoosh right on through the EZ-tag lane now! Then back to the office to deal with several little things and work on a big quote. Now I am wrapping up and heading home. I feel like I have been running all day, but it’s a good feeling since I also feel like I got a lot accomplished.
Naomi & I keep talking about that Shakespeare for the L33t movie clip. It makes me laugh every time we talk about it. Fuxor! I think it’s just a riot. We are also getting new hard drives for our home computers thanks to one of the Chris’s here at work. He is selling me his 15gb 7200rpm Maxtor drive for my old PC with the dead hard drive. (It was a 6gb one, so the added space will be good for storing more mp3s) He is selling Naomi his 40gb 7200rpm Maxtor drive. She really needs the room with all the software she runs plus graphic files, font files, and filepile files! I was going to go with a 30gb Maxtor, but we were concerned that the bios couldn’t handle it plus his is much less expensive. I really only use the pc for occasional surfing, printing, and burning CDs. Jason has games he likes to play on it, so I am sticking with Windows 98 so they will run. I don’t know what sort of compatibility issues I would run into with Windows 2000 or ME.
Shakespeare for the L33T
This No-Effort Online Movie is classic. I love the surprise guest character at the end. It is pretty interesting when you think how the acronyms we use in IM conversations are starting to permeate regular language – I actually almost said “LOL” out loud to someone one day. I bet it was Kymberlie, she has that effect on me. (Thanks to Spring for the link.)
Fun for today!
Visiting Anil Dash’s site has been tons of fun! I laughed until my side hurt. Man, what a riot. Thanks Nicole for sharing that!
Erika, I am all about that pact. We have that same situation right here by my office – where a lane ends and everyone seems to think it gives them the right to drive like an idiot. To top it off, the highway dumps two lanes of traffic on to the road right after that, with a major intersection maybe 200 feet up ahead. So people from lane #3 think it is ok to fly over to lane #1 really fast so they can turn right on to FM 1960. Urgh. I had someone do that to me when I went to Subway earlier. I wanted to just hit her since she pulled in about 6 inches in front of me. Then I decided I have only recently fixed the Car Formerly Known as White Trash Honda – I don’t feel like messing it up again over that. But I wanted to!
By the way – you can always use AvantGo to read my blog. A “low graphics” version is coming soon!
