I have always wanted to submit a picture to The Mirror Project, so last night I finally sent one.
Photos by Naomi
I went over to Naomi’s place last night and she took pictures of me with my new camera. We could have used her camera – but mine is identical, so what’s the difference?!? As I was playing with them this morning, editing, cropping, and so forth I realized that it was time. Time for a new look here. So – here it is! ME! What do you think?
Looking at the world

There I am, looking out at the world through my new glasses, taken in the rearview mirror of my Honda. I took several other pictures today with the new camera: this is the loaner car I had while they fixed the tinting on my car. Could they have made it any more obvious that it was a loaner car? I am thankful that I didn’t end up with this loaner though. I can’t believe Honda makes a Civic that shade of gold! While I was driving down 1960 (the local main road – 6 lanes + a suicide lane in the middle) I was contemplating again how scary it is that we have pipelines running right there, right next to the road. Someday one of those is going to explode, I just know it. Although that might be a good way to get rid of all of the ugly shopping centers along 1960. Except a lot of people would probably get hurt, and that wouldn’t be such a good thing. At least it is nice to come home to a nice view, like the one I have of the pool. See the cute fountain to the right of the sidewalk? I can hear the water running over the rocks from the balcony of my apartment. Nice and soothing.
The car formerly known as white trash Honda is in much better shape now. Side molding back on, tinting fixed on the windows. Now it just needs a few fairly minor things to make it perfect again.
After I got home I took a few more pictures of myself in my new glasses. I really like them!
Specs Similar to Mine
These are *close* to what mine look like. I’ll take a picture of mine tonight. Image courtesy of eyeglasses.com – that site is so cool, you can upload your own picture and try on the glasses online! I had so much fun playing with it.
Update 7/29/2001: I took the picture “down” and just left a link instead because it was messing with the blog design, causing a horizontal scroll on an 800×600 resolution. Working on the redesign yesterday, I could not for the life of me figure out what was wrong! Plus you can see the glasses in the other pictures now, so who needs this one anyways?
Update 7/18/2012: I just got an email from the people representing the site I linked to 11 years ago that for some crazypants reason they didn’t want me linking to them. Uhm, ok! Bizarre… More on my thoughts over here.
Update 7/20/2012: Hey, Guardlex? SUCK IT. I just put the link back up. Especially after reading all the comments on my site, BoingBoing and Hubspot. Oh, and I didn’t ask their permission to link to them…
New Specs, New Camera, and a New Bride!
I got new glasses today – very cool black ones. I had picked them out yesterday, but the machine was down (does anyone ever get the 1 hour glasses in an hour? I never have!) I had to go back this morning to pick them up. So far compliments from everyone at the office – and I like them too! I will have to take a picture of them later today with my new camera! Yep, got one just like Naomi’s for only $249. I am *SO* excited. And I have already figured out why my pictures I tried to take of the cats came out so orange – I didn’t adjust for Tungsten light! DUH. Maybe now I will read the manual and my pictures can be almost as good as everyone elses! (Although I must say they were pretty good before! Just had problems with the indoor ones being orange.)
No, I am not the new bride. Sherry & Lonnie’s Wedding Photos are online, and I seriously had goosebumps and tears in my eyes while reading what she wrote & looking through the photos. I wish them the best. They just look so happy and wonderful together. And I simply LOVE the fact that they got married in a limo at a drive-thru chapel. That is simply classic. So memorable. Just sounds like a ton of fun! Ok, I am getting goosebumps again. Congratulations, Sherry & Lonnie!
