New phone!

The new phone takes photos that are much better than the old phone. Only problem so far is I can’t figure out how to send a message along with a photo!

Feeling all Lovie…

Jaywalker - Heel ShotIt is really hard to get a photo of your own heel, you know? I had to shoot “blind” to get one that I really liked. I continued the pattern on the Jaywalker down the heel instead of working the heel in the pattern. I almost always wear open-backed shoes of some sort, so this was the best option for me. (View it larger if you want.)

Every time I look at the Jaywalker, I start to sing, “Jaywalkin” to the tune of “Jive Talkin” by the Bee Gees. It just works.

Yarn: Trekking XXL, Color #109 (I think)
Pattern: The Jaywalker from Magknits
Finished: Knitting – February, 2006; Kitchnered the toe – March, 2006

In a few minutes, I’m heading out to meet up with Amy (aka Amylovie) to interview her for the next podcast about the opening of her new store, Yarntopia! I’m so excited! I think this is actually the first time I’ve met a knitblogger in person after reading their blog – all the other knitbloggers I know I met in person first. Whee!

Be Bold! Be Daring!

I just received my copy of “The Daring Females Guide to Ecstatic Living” in the mail today. I had already checked out the Daring Female website last week, so I was really curious to see what the book would offer.

I amuse myself when the first thing I think as I open the package is, “Oh! It has glitter on the cover! How cool is that! So cute! Look at it, when I move it, it sparkles!” Yes, you can laugh now. I did.

I’ve only had a chance to make an initial flip through the book, but so far it looks really interesting! I’m looking forward to reading it even more now – I need to learn to banner my inner perfectionist and embrace a daring life!

Jaywalker 2 underway!

(I’m getting a new cell phone this weekend that doesn’t take craptastic photos. It will make the knitting posts *so* much easier. Yeah!)

Hate the Voicemail Maze on Phones?

Hate the Voicemail Maze on Phones? You need to check out GetHuman.com! I just saw this on the news and it looks so wonderful!

Our goal is to improve the quality of customer service and phone support in the US. This free website is run by volunteers and is powered by over one million consumers who demand high quality phone support from the companies that they use.

We will soon publish a list of the best and worst mass-market consumer companies in the US based on how long it takes to get to a human on the phone and on the quality of support received.

Please help us grow our customer support ratings database by taking a moment to rate the quality of support you receive when calling a consumer company you use.

Basically, they give you tips on how to bypass the voicemail maze and get a human on the phone. You can share information also on good customer service, and tales of woe when it takes you 50 minutes to get a person on the line.
