The latest in reality shows? Real reality – Houston Medical premieres tonight! “Meet the doctors, nurses, and patients of Memorial Hermann hospital in Houston, TX as cameras capture the daily drama of their lives.” Let me just toss in here that Dr. Red Duke gets on my last nerve, and since his picture is on the website I can only assume he will be on the show too. If he sounds like a total idiot, I warned you. Not sure if I’ll watch the site tonight – I might, out of that same curiosity that makes you stare at an accident as you pass by on the highway. New Photographs!
Just in case you didn’t notice that the top bar on the default skin for this blog has changed – or if you’re using a different skin – I’ll be adding photographs to the Pixelog over the next few days – and there are two new ones there already!
This Or That…
Time for This or That
1. Popcorn at the movies: buttered or not? Buttered
2. Sometimes you feel like a nut..sometimes you don’t…Mounds or Almond Joy? Blech. Neither one.
3. Chips or pretzels? Both.
4. Milky Way or Snickers? Milky Way. (I hate nuts.)
5. M&M’s or Reese’s Pieces? Both.
6. McDonald’s or Burger King? Burger King.
7. Vanilla Coke or Pepsi Twist? I prefer my Pepsi plain, thank you…
8. Hostess Twinkies or Cupcakes? Ewwww… neither one. I hate that cream filling stuff.
9. Hershey’s Kisses or Hugs? Kisses.
10. Original Mountain Dew or Code Red? None. Can you pass me some water?
A Bit Over the Top…
You can buy your little princess a Fantasy Coach bed. Only $39,500 – but at that bargain price, “Craftsmen are then flown from England to assemble and paint this bed in the customer’s home. (A process that takes 3 days.) The artist will custom paint on-site any colors and motif of your choosing, as well as upholster the inside with your fabric selections.” Oh yeah, that’s a bit much. Copyright with a Twist…
It seems that Woody Guthrie had a bit of a different view on copyright: written by Pete Seeger, June 1967, “When Woody Guthrie was singing hillbilly songs on a little Los Angeles radio station in the late 1930s, he used to mail out a small mimeographed songbook to listeners who wanted the words to his songs, On the bottom of one page appeared the following: “This song is Copyrighted in U.S., under Seal of Copyright # 154085, for a period of 28 years, and anybody caught singin it without our permission, will be mighty good friends of ourn, cause we don’t give a dern. Publish it. Write it. Sing it. Swing to it. Yodel it. We wrote it, that’s all we wanted to do.” W.G.” Isn’t that what creating art is all about? Sharing the art with the world? Hmmm… [via BoingBoing]
