The Mighty Geek is always guaranteed to make me laugh, but when I read this about elevators and staples and more … well, I’ve been laughing for about 5 minutes now. Loud laughter. And my cat is just staring at me. I wonder if Mona is thinking that she should call 911 and be a rescue cat. Or else she is plotting to eat me after I die here on the couch laughing so that she won’t starve to death. Cats are scary like that, you know. Anywans, I won’t even bother to write any more about this because it just won’t do it justice. Go read it for yourself. Make sure to not consume liquids before you do.
I Thought it Was Al Gore?
Here I thought it was Al Gore who brought us the Internet, but according to the Vatican’s Ethics in Internet document, “Like today’s world itself, the world of media, including the Internet, has been brought by Christ, inchoately yet truly, within the boundaries of the kingdom of God and placed in service to the word of salvation.” [via The Netdork]
My New Name…
Thanks to Gretchen, I have a new name: Loopy Girdle-Brain. Hmmm. I’m just not sure about that one! Actually, the name is thanks to Gretchen posting the alphabet from a children’s book, “Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants”, by Dave Pilkey: “The evil Professor forces everyone to assume new names…” Thanks, but I think I would prefer it if everyone just called me Christine, although Loopy does fit some days.
Don’t Look Now…
Remember how we all worried on December 31, 1999 that something really bad might happen at midnight as all the computers in the world crashed or something? Well here it is, the true reason why nothing really bad happened … Sock monkeys saved the world from Y2K!!! (Yes Todd, that was posted just for you.) [via Megan’s Biography]
TSS Fans, Unite!
While reading Mike’s Blog the other day, which I *truly* enjoy (it’s the geek girl in me, sorry!) I noticed his link to The Screen Savers Review. As you have noticed from all the talk this week, I am a TechTV junkie. And Robyn will try to tell you different, but I watch TSS several times a week. I don’t Tivo it because that plus Call for Help would fill up the Tivo, but it’s on at midnight-ish CST, and I’m normally still up then, so I catch the rerun. Uh, where was I? Oh, yeah, TSS Review … it’s some good stuff! And get this – Mike has talked of taking TSSR offline. *gasp* So I think it’s time I call for help … damn, that was lame … and get everyone out there that loves TSS to start visiting the site! (Uh, Mike, then can we have a Call for Help Review site? Please?)
Also, there is a Tech TV Webring site! Yes, I signed up and as I told Chris Pirillo, I am the only member listed under Call for Help. So come on and join!
