I was a Secret Santa…

As I mentioned before, I participated in two secret santa projects this year – one of them was the ThinkBlank Secret Santa project, and I have to say I think I was one of the luckier participants in a way – I was assigned someone whose blog I have actually read – Dori of Backup Brain. I found her site through Meryl’s, and of course if Meryl liked her I knew I would too. I also participated in Mar’s Secret Santa project, where I was assigned Jennifer, and with the help of Robyn & Todd I was able to pull off cool surprise since her gift won’t ship until January 4th. Jessy sent me a wonderful Enya CD, and I think my other Secret Santa gift is on it’s way … it’s not here yet but that’s ok! I’m thankful for who I was assigned – knowing them made it so much more fun to “shop” their wishlist for them! Heck, I’m thankful for all of my friends online.

So, if you participated in a Secret Santa project, what did you think of it? Would you do it again?

Fitness Do’s and Don’ts…

How many people are making a New Year’s resolution of losing weight? Raise your hand … (See mine waving in the air?) This is an interesting article – “The Bottom Line on Getting in Shape”. I am going to start my food diary – as soon as I finish this Christmas fudge! *grin* And always remember, it doesn’t help to starve yourself. “Starving yourself is counterproductive,” explains Austin. “When you skip meals, your metabolism slows down to conserve energy — and stops burning fat.” And weight training is a good thing. It will help you to tone up and lose weight faster. It works for me, and I have missed it recently. Have to start going to the gym again, soon! I think I´m going to try out this new thing with my personal trainer called Xerofit online personal trainer software, it´s an online platform that helps personal trainers better train their clients with digital tools.

As for my resolution of decluttering – my recycling pile is getting taller & taller! And later today I will work on finally letting go of those clothes I never wear so I can reclaim my closet. First it’s off to a movie & dinner with the family to celebrate Dad’s day!

Happy Birthday!

Before I start my decluttering mission for today, my last morning post is a Happy Birthday wish for my Dad! Whoo hoo, just 1 more year until he can retire! He’s 54 this year, and Walgreen’s retirement age is 55 … and yes, I am posting his age because he is the one that gets all excited about the “Senior discounts” he will be qualifying for! In his honor, read a joke. I am posting some of the most recent ones that he has sent me. Happy Birthday Dad!

What Cracker Should they Add?

Remember when you were a kid and you had the “Barnum’s Animals” animal crackers? The little box with the string on top? Well, they came out in 1902. While watching the Today show this morning they had a clip about how Nabisco is going to add a new animal shape in honor of their 100 year anniversary – and you can vote for Barnum’s new shape. I voted for the Penguin – which one will you vote for?
