Yesterday’s News and I *heart* Super J!

I forgot to mention yesterday that Kymberlie started working with me! Yeah! She is our content manager, although she has some way cool title that I can’t remember. I gave them her resume in June, but they didn’t have a position until last week. She came in for one interview and they sent her an offer letter on Friday! Whoo hoo! So after a nice little six month vacation, she is working again. I know she will love it here. Wonder if they have shown her where the mp3 server is?

Today Super J sent me a birthday gift certificate! w00t! (I love that word lately…) I was so excited I printed everything and showed it to everyone in the office. I have such great friends. Super J – YOU ROCK!!! I *heart* Super J!!!

Birthday Week Kick-off!

My friend Sandra’s birthday is next Friday, and mine is next Thursday. Since we both have plans with family & friends next weekend, we decided to kick-off birthday week with a little get together tonight at the Skybar! I am soooo excited. I have wanted to go there since last March when I first heard about it. So I started thinking on Wednesday that Sandra, her husband Henry, and a bunch of other friends of ours would be a blast to go with! And I am finally wearing my cute new little outfit – the black pants with the fun & spunky sequins on the bottom of the legs and the fuschia shirt. Whoo hoo! I am so excited, I can hardly wait!

The Yellow Ribbon

This morning as I was eating breakfast I decided to turn on the Today show. They were showing the Marines that were deploying for the Mediterranean. They were already scheduled to deploy for a 6 month tour, but still… this time it’s different. Who knows if they will be gone just 6 months, or a year, or longer? And instead of a peace time tour, we could be at war. Having been an Army wife in Desert Storm, I remember how horribly hard the deployments are. My ex-husband was in Germany with me throughout Desert Storm until that May, when they deployed for “Operation Provide Comfort”. (Who thinks of these names?) I wore a yellow ribbon throughout all of Desert Storm, and for years had it tacked to the wall at work, in memory of all of those separated from their loved ones, serving in foreign lands or just far from home. I figured it was time I had a yellow ribbon here. I am forever grateful to the members of the military and their families for the sacrifices they make to defend our country. Thank you…

Sending positive thoughts, hugs & prayers out to Hilary and Sara during this time. Thinking of you & your families.

Four Nuns

Four young novice nuns were about to take their vows. Dressed in their white gowns, they came into the chapel with the Mother Superior, and were about to undergo the ceremony to marry them to Jesus, making them ” brides of Christ”.

Just as the ceremony was about to begin, four Hasidic Jews with yamulkes, long sideburns and long breards came in and sat in the front row.

The mother Superior said to them, ‘ I am honored that you would want to share this experience with us, but do you mind if I ask why you came ?”

One of the Jews replied, “We’re from the groom’s family.”

(Made me laugh, but it’s always something I like to remind people of too… Jesus was JEWISH. Something to think about…)
