When is…

Season Premiere week? Is it next week or the week after that? I think it’s the last week, which means the first new episode of Friends, Will & Grace, and ER are on September 27 – my birthday! What a present! Hmmm. Anyone know?

Stop the Hate

After reading this I had to post. The name of the page file, appropriately, is “notbinladin.htm”. People, just because someone looks different then you does not mean they are any more of a terrorist then you are! America has always claimed to be proud to be the melting pot. Let us show our UNITY in a time like this, not terrorize poor innocent people on the street just because you assume that because they are *maybe* Muslim (some people do convert to other religions, you know) they are therefore terrorist. And more importantly, there are other terrorist out there that are the “next door neighbor” type, like Timothy McVeigh. Religion does not equal terrorism. Let’s help these people feel SAFE.

Frauenkirchen, Burgenland

I received an e-mail on Tuesday from a wonderful lady named Konstanze (Connie) who lives in Vienna, Austria. It never ceases to amaze me how the internet can bring us so close. I wrote back to her and told her that I have family in Vienna, and all of my mother’s relatives (I am the 3rd generation born in the US on her side, and she is 100% Austrian) were from a village in Austria named Frauenkirchen. Connie wrote me back and sent me the address for that website, which I thought was quite nice of her to do that for me. I am planning on going to Europe for a family vacation in 3-4 years, visiting mainly Austria and Germany. Yes, some people want to go to Disneyworld. I have no desire to go there … I want to go see the world.

It gives me comfort to know that people around the globe are concerned about us, that we have their support. Thank you…

International Day of Peace

If Lilly had not posted it in the comments, I would have never known that Tuesday was the International Day Of Peace. Can you believe that? There were Day of Peace events scheduled at the UN on Tuesday.

The Families…

It is so hard to watch all of the families on the news, hearing their personal stories. All of these people searching for their loved ones. And then, the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, totally breaking down – because he took his son to the first day of school he wasn’t there … but 700 employees were, and none have been found. 700 from one company alone. And the remaining employees (I think there were 300 or so not there due to vacation, appointments, etc) voted today to go back to work when the bond market opened this morning. How hard.

Those walls full of pictures, posters of people looking for their family members. And so many of those may not ever truly get closure, their loved ones may never be found. *sigh*

Don’t forget, 7pm on Friday – go outside and light a candle. I have them lined up & ready on my patio, and if I can find a flag and get my dad to come put up a flag holder for me, I am putting that outside too. Then I might go & find the yellow ribbon I wore throughout Desert Storm. It was upsetting to hear that they are considering calling up the Reserves for the first time since Desert Storm.

My prayers for everyone have been constant. May we all find peace.
