It’s That Time of Year!

Ah, the smell of autumn. Leaves falling, school back in session, a crisp cool breeze in the air… Wait, who am I kidding? It isn’t cool here at all, unless you consider 90 degrees cool. Breeze? I wish. Maybe if you stand in front of a fan. But it is true – school is back in session, and you know what that means?

Fundraisers! (I don’t have co-workers to show the catalog to, so I might as well take it to the blog!)

Jason’s school is having their annual fundraiser, and they have some pretty nice stuff in the catalog. If you would like to check it out and place an order to help his school, you can do so online at Cherrydale.com. You will need his information for him to get credit – when you create your account, please enter school code 144147 (Willow Wood Junior High in Tomball, Texas), and fill in the student’s name and grade: Jason Selleck, grade 7. The fundraiser ends on September 7th (in order for him to get credit for the sales.)

If you order, could you send me the order number so I can verify that they give him credit? And whether you order something or not, thank you *so much* for taking the time to check it out! You guys ROCK!

This concludes the annual fundraiser push. Thank you for participating.

Research Group Update…

I guess it would have been handy if I had shared the rest of the details, huh? The study I did today was for Plaza Research. They have offices in Houston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale. If you live in one of those areas, you can sign up for their e-mail list and they will let you know when studies are available in your area. From there, you call in and qualify for the study. If you’re picked, they will book a time for you to come in, and you too can give companies opinions.

The study today was for one of the major pizza chains. It turned out that we didn’t get to taste the pizza; we got to give them feedback on previous ad campaigns and upcoming products and ad campaigns. It was torture having to look at pizzas for 2 hours and not being allowed to eat it! However, they gave us a $5 gift card and they paid us $75, not $60 – so I ordered pizza for dinner tonight!

2 hours, $75 … pretty good if you ask me! Plus it was cool to have the opportunity to share feedback on something that could end up being a nationwide ad campaign. Even if I had to buy my own pizza in the end…

Wonderful Wednesday!

Do you know what the best way to start off your day is? To weigh yourself – because you haven’t in awhile – and discover that you’ve lost 5 pounds! Whoo hoo! What a fabulous surprise! I thought my clothes felt loose, but wasn’t sure – now I know!

Wheeeeee!!!

Now I’m off to taste pizza for money. Yeah, how is that for ironic? But there was the local research group had a study for pizza opinions and I signed up last week. Easy way to make $60!
