While spellchecking an e-mail that I was sending through Thunderbird, it told me that “Firefox” was a misspelled word. Now really, if you were designing a software package, wouldn’t you make sure that the name of your other software package wasn’t considered a misspelled word? Come on guys … Firefox should be in the Thunderbird dictionary!

A Little Linguistic Quirk…
Isn’t it funny to think about how some things stick? Mike and I were watching the ending of the Tour de France, and Lance Armstrong was wearing an earpiece.
Mike asked, “Is that a Walkman in his ear?”
It wasn’t, it was only one cord, so I am sure it’s some device he uses to talk to the team or the coach. However, it amused me. Walkman? Who owns a Walkman anymore? We’re all about iPods (I spotted some of the white headphone cords on the riders) and other brands.
But after all the years, a “Walkman” is no longer a brand. It’s a generic term. It’s a devise that pumps sound in to your ears, no matter what the brand. I wonder how much that has hurt Sony in the long run? No one cares if their Walkman is a Walkman anymore, as long as it’s good.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game…
I decided that the only way to get over my crabby, icky funk earlier was to actually get up and leave the house. We went to the local IHOP because they have pancakes that far surpass any IHOP pancakes that I have ever had before – and IHOP pancakes are always the best. These are the bestest of the best though.
Then we went to Katy Mills mall (my first time, even though it is HUGE and it has been open for years) to go to the Lenox store. It is closing, so everything is an extra 30% off. We went with the goal of buying the accent plates we need to complete our china, but they only had one that wasn’t flawed. We picked up another place setting of the china though, and a fabulous gravy boat and salad bowl from the Butler’s Pantry line.
While we were there, I realized that the timing was perfect to go to the original Lupe Tortillas and arrive just as they opened, getting us in before the hour long wait for a table began. Worked out perfectly! We arrived at 5:15, and the patio was already open for drinks while you waited for them to open the doors at 5:30.
While we waited for the doors to open, Chelsey called to offer us the firm tickets for tonight’s baseball game. Club seats with a fabulous view. Normally $75 a seat tickets, so the ones we would never buy for ourselves. I knew I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night (I tossed and turned all night), but I couldn’t pass up the chance to go to a game. I haven’t been all season! The horror! This is not normal for me. I absolutely adore Minute Maid Park and love going to baseball games. I never watch them on TV, but in person – ahhhhh… I’m all about the experience.
I thought I was going to cry as we drove in to downtown. It’s only been a week and a half since I have been down there, and I drove by on Wednesday night, but still – I don’t know. Something about being in downtown always makes me feel giddy.
I yawned through the first few innings, and I thought the guy next to me was going to freak out over it. I should have coughed on him to share some cootie love or something. Finally, there was some action in the game, but not enough to let us win. I can finally say I saw Roger Clemens pitch. I’m still not sure how excited I should be about that, but he seemed pretty good.
Hopefully, I will sleep more peacefully tonight. There is a busy weekend ahead of me, with Jason returning home from North Dakota on Sunday. I can hardly wait!
