A Gorgeous Day…

Friday night was nice & relaxing. I had a good time visiting with my friend, and it was hysterically funny watching “Sixteen Candles”. Yep, a classic indeed. It has been awhile since I have seen it. Nice quiet evening.

I slept in quite late Saturday morning, and then just vegged around here, doing housework and so forth. The weather was SO gorgeous outside yesterday (and today too!) About 2pm I went over to my parent’s house so we could make Jason’s pumpkin to go with his book report – Aslan, the lion from “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. Mom has more craft goodies than I do, so it was easier to make it over there. While we were waiting for glue to dry and so forth we finished writing up his book report out on her patio so we could enjoy the great day. Then we hurried home so we could watch the “Scooby Doo” movies that were on Cartoon Network – only to discover that the power was out in our entire apartment complex! We waited about 30 minutes to see if it was going to come back on, but not knowing when it went off, I decided to go back to my parent’s house. The apartment office had a note on the door that said “Closed early due to power outage” and they close at 5pm on Saturday – so I figured it wasn’t coming back on any time soon. My parents were heading out for a Halloween party, so we ordered pizza and chilled over there until about 9:30 or so. I figured if the lights were still out then that was ok, Jason could sleep in the dark! But when we got home there were big HL&P trucks outside and the lights were back on. I estimate they were off for about 5 and a half hours – my timer for my lamp is set to come on at 6:30pm, and instead it came on at 12 midnight. I was going to set up the wireless network when I got home, but I decided instead that I wanted some more computer down time, so I stayed offline, watching “Will & Grace”, “Providence” and “Saturday Night Live”.

Now I am off to set up the wireless gateway. Nervously. I hope I don’t mess everything up! I have read all of the instructions though and I think I have it all down. If it goes according to their instructions it should be super easy to do! I am doing the main PC first though, so if there are problems I will still be able to get online through the laptop! Hopefully my next entry will be from the comfort of my cozy chair outside on the patio!
