My latest entry for Rannie’s project, the 100k Photocontest, category cityscapes. I asked Rannie if I could post a city other than where I live because … well, I don’t like Houston. So here it is!
Boston on the 4th of July. The boats are out in the bay, ready for the fireworks to begin. We were sitting on the Longfellow bridge, listening to the Boston Pops, which gave us the perfect setting for the show. I never wanted to leave…
Taken on July 4th, 2002 with a Minolta x370 and Fuji 400 film. The print used to make this image is framed and sitting on my desk at work. It makes me smile.

i love it.
I really love the sky. That is really gorgeous. Can I come to Boston with you next time?
Ch/K-power! 😉
Of course you can come along! Would you like to go tomorrow? Jenn’s birthday is on Wednesday, mine is on Friday … what a perfect way to celebrate!
Beautiful photo and I can sympathize with not being able to take a good picture of a city you don’t much care for but happen to live in. There are a million photos of Memphis that I have and love, but Louisville, I just don’t know the city well enough yet to photograph her effectively.
boston is one of my favorite cities – and you just gave me one more reason to love it.
Can I come in my jammies and with braids in my hair? :giggle:
ahhhhhhhh. i love my city. 🙂 you photograph it so well!
oh! that’s so beautiful!
isn’t boston wonderful?
Beautiful. Pity I don’t get bodies of water where I’m at.
That is quite a beautiful shot. I like the colors on the buildings as well as the gradual fading of the water into deep blue at the bottom 🙂
