Bright Light! Bright Light!

I woke up this morning with the feeling like my eyelashes were stuck together so I couldn’t see quite right out of my left eye – only they weren’t stuck together at all. My eye was bloodshot, and it hurt. Things seemed gray in the far edge of my vision. If I touched my eye, the gray got worse. I resisted the urge to rub my eye and called the opthamologist. I used to work for him years ago, and I learned back then – you never mess with your eyes.

I was hoping it was just a surface area issue, and I wouldn’t have to be dilated. No such luck. It turns out nothing is wrong, but now I can’t see. I have giant black pupils with little blue rims around them. I hate having my eyes dilated.

Hopefully by tonight I will be able to see again. For now, I’m hanging out in the dark with my sunglasses on. Everything is so bright!

Maybe you would appreciate then when I went for my new glasses. They had to dilate my pupils & it was during my lunch hour and I had no sunglesses. When I walked back outside on what was the sunniest day ever I near died it hurt my eyes so much to keep them open!

Yeah, I did that once too. Forgot to bring sunglasses, and so I wore these lovely paper ones that the opthamologist gave me to wear. My husband came and got me, took me to lunch, and the waiter asked me if I’d just had Lasik done. I wish!

Oh well, glad to hear it wasn’t anything worse.
