Postcards…

Have a friend that is an indentured cubite? Why not send them a Postcard from Prison? Only you can make their day better – otherwise it will simply be another day in hell. [via Billegible]

Please Say Yes or No…

As much as I hate the automated phone systems that have taken over society, I have gotten used to them. “Press 1 for yes, 2 for no.” That I can handle. The latest technology wave? Voice activated systems. And I have to be honest. They drive me NUTS. I just called in to Travelocity.com regarding a ticket reservation. The lovely female voice greets you with a friendly, “Thank you for calling Travelocity. Would you like to …” and lists off items. No instructions – I guess you’re just supposed to know to talk back at this computer. I didn’t. I waited a second or two for the numeric menu options. Finally I realized what I was supposed to do. The whole menu was voice activated like that, and only once did she say, “Please say yes or no.” It was a relief when I hit the part where I was allowed to key in they trip reservation code instead of having to read out a 12 digit number. Thank goodness. But overall? I don’t like them. I prefer the human touch, and the fake computer woman wasn’t cutting it. What do you think?

Seeking Inspiration…

It’s a new week and Blogwhore: the Webgame starts up with Immunity challenge #3 today. This challenge?

“Your goal is to compose a tracklisting for a Mix CD. Each track contains what you would call a ‘theme song’ for each contestants blog. There are 10 contestants, therefore your CD must be 10 tracks long.”

While I have the PERFECT song already picked out for William, I need to think of 8 more and one for me. Hmm…

So here is where YOU come in. If you’ve been following along or even if you haven’t – post a song and which contestant you think it applies to in the comments. Audience participation! AND! There’s MORE! If I use your song, link love for you! (Rannie-style!) What more can a blogwhore ask for, after all?

Science for Kids!

The instructions for the Gauss Rifle look really cool, but more importantly I am all about stressing the importance of science to kids. Making a note of this one so we can use it as a Scout project next fall. [via Boing Boing]

My First Blogroll…

Courtesy of Blogrolling, all of the links related to Blogwhore: the Webgame have been added to my sidebar. I have to agree, getting them all added to it was the hardest part, although the bookmarklet made it a little easier. Let me know if you see anything wacky going on over there. I mean with the list … I know there is a lot of wacky stuff going on on the Blogwhore sites! I borrowed Jill’s descriptions for the time being of the commentators – they were too perfect to pass up.

1 hour to go until the first contestant is voted off. Any bets on who it will be?
