It’s In the Genes…

I can’t help but wonder if my love of Boston is somehow tied to the fact that the first Selleck in America, David Selleck, moved to Boston in 1641? He was a “Boston Soape boyler,” which is also ironic because I make soap. I would check out the site where David Selleck lived next week in Boston, except it’s part of the Big Dig now.

More information on the family tree is here.

Blogathon’ers Going Strong!

I could have posted about all the people doing the Blogathon earlier, but I was offline running in circles around Houston, so this is the first time I’ve sat down with the computer all day. If you want my opinion, after midnight is when the Blogathon really gets funny – people get way too punchy and slap-happy! I wish I had money to donate to all the Blogathon’ers out there, but I don’t. If you want to check out some of the sites participating (and hopefully donate to their causes), you can visit the sites listed below!

Boston Bingo!

Soon I will be traveling. Seeing new places and new faces. While I’m in Boston, I think I just might play some “Hipster Bingo” and I´m also going to try BBq bingo, I think you should try it too, I hear it’s all the rage! Click the card for the large version. [via bitter-girl.com, where I stole the graphic. Originally found at Catbirdseat.]

I’m not sure if it was the “chunky plastic-frame glasses” or the “blogger with digital camera” that hooked me. I can’t stop giggling over it, and I think I can get Bingo within a day or two.

Office Observations…

My observations after a very long day at work:

:: I can use a Marks-A-Lot marker to dial my phone. This requires far less effort than dialing with my hand because I don’t have to reach quite so far.

:: All people that use “Thx” for “Thanks” in business e-mails should be bitch-slapped. Leave the abbreviations in the chat room or on IM – it doesn’t belong in work e-mail. (Note: None of my co-workers did this. It was in documents I was producing for a case.)

:: Having a celebration for a co-worker’s birthday is a good thing. We had food from Chick-Fil-A for lunch, and a birthday cake to go with it. Yummm…

:: Any crisis you can think of is guaranteed to take place while the secretary takes a day off. Documents will be lost, things will be going crazy, it will be a madhouse. When the secretary returns (thank goodness she’ll be back tomorrow!) you should always remember to thank her for the peace and sanity she brings to the world.
