Potter Changes…

While I thoroughly enjoyed the American versions of the Harry Potter books, it’s interesting to read about all of the differences between the UK and US versions. [via Jake]

What do you think? Should they have changed the books for the US? Or should they have just left them in their original form, in the spirit in which they were written? Personally, I say leave well enough alone. Why change a good thing? I’m all for diversification and learning something new about another culture!

Zoom Zoom!

I’m always on the lookout for good Christmas gifts for Jason; 10 years old is a hard age to buy presents for this time of year. The Zip Zap RC Cars look so cool – I’ll have to check out the local Radio Shack stores and see if they have any! Read more about them here – I might have to get one for myself, they sound like so much fun! [via Tom]

This is Dedicated To…

This is dedicated to the ones I love. To Robyn and Statia for giving me a reason to take it. To Mike for laughing when I took it. To Nasty Mike for further inspiration. To Shel because I’m a certified groupie and forever a Blogwhore. To Michele, Rannie, Philo, William and Nancy for bringing out the true Blogwhore in me. And for Rusty, since it is a Kuro5hin t-shirt after all. And for all of you… enjoy!

Mmmmm… Cookies!

Come on. You know you want to help raise money for the boobies. So head on over to Robyn’s site and check out all the delicious boobie photos (not always work safe – depending on where you work!) – including some of my very own Big Pink Cookie shots – and then give tell it hurts to the campaign. You know you want to do it. Come on … it’s almost at a point where we can give $1000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation!

Years ago, I found a lump in my breast. I was about 26 at the time, and considering I lost my right ovary when I was 20 to a massive multiloculated cyst, a lump in my breast was terrifying. According to Dr Choy, I was lucky that I found it when I did, and I insisted that they remove the lump – leaving me with a scar – so they could do a biopsy on it. I’m glad I did; it wasn’t cancer, and since then I have had not only my annual pap & pelvic exam with my ob/gyn, but I’ve had mammograms too. I can’t say enough about the importance of check-ups for cancer. Just do it. And men? That applies to you too.

If you won’t do it for yourself, do it for the people that love you! Support the boobies!
