Tweaking…

Because Jay pointed it out, I’m going to fix my RSS Feed this weekend. He points out this handy article at Dive into Mark as a reference. Kristine talked about news aggregators the other day, which I want to look in to within the next week or so.

Who is Watching You?

Plagued by annoying pop-up ads that just seem to come out of nowhere? Wonder if websites are tracking you long after you’re gone from theirs? Ad-Aware is a fantastic tool for checking on this, and they have just announced the release of Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware 6.0. I can’t recommend this software enough – get it. Run it. Now. Like Cary Grant…

The phone rang and I looked down to see whose name was on the caller ID. I was surprised to see that it was ed k., but he knew it was my first day at the temp job at the law firm, and I figured he was calling to check on me. Ed K. is just like that.

But that wasn’t it at all. He was calling to let me know that the finalists had been announced for the 2003 Bloggies and I’m up for awards! Big Pink Cookie is up for Best American Blog and Picture Yourself is up for Best Non-Weblog Content of a Weblog Site. My beloved Blogwhore is up for Best Topical Weblog. ScriptyGoddess is up for not just one award, but three!

It’s wonderful to see so many things that have been so important to me for the past year up there for awards. It’s nothing short of amazing, really. And while I’m up against some really great competition, I’m not up against Wil Wheaton. Amazing. It’s also great to see so many clients of Blogomania up for awards. Wow, I really am in good company!

Thank you to Ed K. for being my Cary Grant to my Sophia Lauren at the 1969 Oscars … it was the perfect way to find out about the nods, like a golden envelope being dropped at my door. (You’d have to ask him about the Cary Grant thing – he said it, not me…)

My votes for the finalists are in … are yours?

By the way – I’m giving a Bloggie award or two out at SXSW – does this mean I need to get a pink tutu and high heels with pink laces up my legs a la Lara Flynn Boyle?

Because I Can…

Jennifer ROCKS! She rocks! She so totally rocks. I have peace of mind, thanks to Jennifer. Isn’t it nice when you have friends that listen to you and are able to help you breathe a little easier.

Plus she noticed that Google had “be kind to your Cookie” day for me today! How cool is that?

Thank you again to everyone for your support today – even if we don’t see eye to eye on things, I appreciate different points of view because I realize that there are many different angles to everything. I have an early day tomorrow – first day at the new temp job! – so I don’t have time to respond to all of my e-mail, but I will tomorrow or later this week. Thank you again…

However, I have removed my post from earlier. Not that I am changing my beliefs or hiding behind a wall, but because Laura wisely pointed out that when you post something on the internet it is there forever. You know, there are just some things that don’t need to be online for the whole world to see. Not in this day & age. I’m job hunting, and I needed a reminder of that. If you want more details, you know where to find me.

Postcards, Pretty Postcards…

I really want to set up a script on Pixelog like the one found here that allows visitors to send postcards to other people, as seen on Digital Streams. Someday…
