Who is Watching You?

Plagued by annoying pop-up ads that just seem to come out of nowhere? Wonder if websites are tracking you long after you’re gone from theirs? Ad-Aware is a fantastic tool for checking on this, and they have just announced the release of Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware 6.0. I can’t recommend this software enough – get it. Run it. Now. i’ve been using ad-aware for awhile now and find it so great that it’s gotten rid of that damn gator software that seems to creep onto my computer when i’m not lookin’. heh. down with spy ware!

Consider adding Spybot Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster, and SpywareGuard. All are free. The first cleans up spyware in areas that Ad-aware is weak in, the latter two block nasty spyware and hijackers from ever entering your computer. Lots of ad/spyware can simply be deleted and erased with a good clean-up program like, well, CleanUp! by Stephen Gould. (There are 2 programs called CleanUp!–one is free (Stephen Gould’s), and the other costs $.) My 2 cents. Hope it helps.
