This event, Bilbo’s age at the start of The Fellowship of the Ring, falls in The Tolkien Society’s 33rd anniversary year, our coming of age; thus the society is Frodo to J.R.R. Hehe, a customer in my bookstore was talking about that the other day … I was about the only employee who actually got it. Everyone else was like “Eleventy one? Huh?” It made me sad so I told them all to read the Lord of the Rings.
