After a few weeks of waking up in the middle of the night with a numb left hand thanks to carpal tunnel, I decided a few weeks ago that enough was enough. I did permanent nerve damage to my right hand by putting surgery off for far too long. I don’t want to do that to my left hand too. So this coming Wednesday, I go back under the knife. It will nice to finally have hands that don’t go numb.
I’m not worried at all about the surgery – since I have had no problems at all with the carpal tunnel part of the surgery I had on my right hand. (The thumb surgery on my right hand? That is a different story.) I am, however, worried about finishing up my Christmas knitting. On a positive note, my doctor said that knitting is a good thing and he wants me to do it as soon as possible, since it will help speed up my recovery. Fine motor skills and all that.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again … take good care of your hands. You only have two of them, and you will need them. Treat them well.

My thoughts will be with you. I’m sure the surgery will turn out fine!
Good luck!!!
Wish my doc would tell mw to knit more…. 😛
Good luck, sweetie. I hope everything goes okay!
Oh man! I’m so sorry you have to do this now. I think I’d go crazy without both my hands available daily. Is there anything you need? Send me your address again. I might have something you can read.
I totally sympathize with your nerve damage situation. I had surgery a couple of months ago and am in the process of reversing the damage done to my right arm and hand.
Thankfully, my doc approved knitting too. All the best to you!
