Going Plain…

In order to figure out why my pop-up windows wouldn’t work, this site might just be going to the Default Templates of MovableType (which is what Worth Keeping and Betty Crocker Wannabe are already using…) Just thought I would warn you so that you didn’t wonder what the heck was going on. From there I will “rebuild” the skins around it and hopefully it will all work fine!

okay – was it worth migrating from blogger to MT? i printed out 34 pages of instructions, unzipped everything, and was all ready to get it done … when your ‘adventures in installation’ began.

naturally, i’m ‘concerned’. 🙂

My migration was so *easy* it was almost crazy. It took minutes. And if I hadn’t been playing around with skins and everything, I think I would be fine. Actually, I am fine right now, I just couldn’t get the pop-up window comments to work last night after I “tweaked” something – they actually worked at first, but just didn’t look the way I wanted! So I broke them somehow. If I took the time to read the documentation on MT, to actually see what I did wrong, or re-read my own code – I am sure I could easily find the problem. There is probably a crazy

I thought this might help…..in the section of the default MT pages there is a small script for the builtin popup pages….

function OpenComments (c) {

window.open(‘mt-comments.cgi?’ +

‘entry_id=’ + c,

‘comments’,

‘width=480,height=480,scrollbars=yes,status=yes’);

Let me know if that helps.

Opps again…reading down I realize you already made sure you had that in place….if you want another set of eyes to look over the code, email me your template………can’t hurt…..it might be something so simple, but because you’ve been looking at it so long it’s just being missed.

hey, I know I owe you an email (the note is at home!), but I wanted to thank you for putting a link to the default templates – I was just surfing a few blogs before going off to see if Ben and Mena had a copy of these on their site somewhere! Amazing how easy it is to past over them and THEN realize that you might have screwed them up :giggle:
