Knitting Olympics Selections!

I’m heading off to Seattle, and since I’ll be there when we cast on for the Knitting Olympics (or the Ravelympics – whatever), I have opted to select my knitting project beforehand so I can take it along with me.

And the winner is …

(Drumroll…)

The February Lady Sweater!

Knit out of Red Cascade 220, in color #9404. Stash yarn. I ended up finalizing my selection based on the stash yarn factor, along with the fact that it is a darling sweater and it should be light weight enough for the Houston fall/winter/spring.

Plus I don’t have enough yarn for Cassidy, I’ve always want to make the Twist in the same black/brown yarn that Caro used, and the Eris? Well, I don’t know … I just wasn’t feeling it today.

Never one to be happy with just one project, especially when I’m traveling (I have Gilligan’s Island Syndrome after all), I’m bringing along the gray laceweight yarn and the Hanami pattern, just in case I hate knitting the sweater and want to switch. Think of it as the alternate to the event.

I’m also taking sock knitting for the plane, and the yarn for my Lace Ribbon scarf too.

I’m sure some yarn will manage to find its way into my suitcase though. It always does…

sigh! Okay, I’m not bitter that neither of my suggestions won.

I love that Lace Ribbon scarf too, thanks for reminding me that it’s been queued forever. I’ll have to figure out what yarn to use, now.
