More Fun Than Studying…

I should be studying for my Chemistry test tomorrow, or reading my Biology book. Or learning about quadratic equations, which I need to get a grasp of by Thursday for my Algebra test.

Instead, I’ve been clearing out the blogroll. First I removed some blogs that I know are dead and gone. Then I went through all of the “A” and “B” blogs (alphabetically) and cleaned out the dead sites or changed URLs as needed. I will continue over the next few weeks; then I know there are other sites I need to add.

It is always such a delimna for me – I have sites I link to that I no longer read. But I still hesitate to remove the links for silly sentimental reasons. How crazy is that? I have to admit though that with my new and improved “purge it if you don’t need it” attitude at home, it is making it easier for me to purge the links. It still makes me sappy though. Things change, and I don’t always like that fact.

I did the same thing, when I had an active blog (something I may well have again soon, actually) — I’d purge dead links, but I’d drag my feet because I’d wish the dead links weren’t actually dead. *sigh*

You’ve gotta do it, though, or the blogroll can take over. eep.

Actually, Jen, you just made me think of something. For the blogs that are inactive or I just don’t read, but that are not “dead” – I can make another blogroll in WordPress for them and just move them over there! The links won’t show up on my site anymore, but if I need to “recover” them I could!

*doh!*

Thanks for making me think of that!

Oooo, I didn’t even think of that. (making another blogroll). I’m like you C. Hate deleting them off my roll, because I think that maybe they’ll come back.

Of course, now that I got rid of one blog, and started another, I’ve found that I’m being much more conservative this time around, on who I add onto the roll. *G* I’ve been cheating, and just made a folder in my ‘favorites’, and have been bookmarking people in the folder.
