The yarn is from Knit Picks, and I figured out the “Magic Loop” method to avoid using DPNs. Size US 2, 40″ Addi. I used the 56 Stitch, 56 Row sock pattern that Donna recommended, but I tweaked it for my own foot size – and it fits perfectly!
Now I’m speed knitting sock #2 because I have other things I *really* want to be knitting, but this guy must have a mate first.

It looks fantastic! You should try a toe-up sock next. 🙂
Actually, because I honestly believe I am a tad bit insane, my next project will be Entralac socks using my Philly blue Koigu. Because while tackling socks, it is wise to add some entralac to the mix.
Fabulous! The Magic Loop is a neat trick, but I’ve never owned a circular needle with a cable flexible enough to give it a try. And if you’re already doing Magic Loop, try knitting both socks at once. 🙂
Umm, yes, that does sound insane.
I have started to like using dpns. I have been making small felted handbags for a local boutique and I am doing them all on dpns.
